KNEE INJURY??? SPRAIN OR TEAR? ADVICE NEEDED!

I was walking in rain and lost balance but didn't fall ( caught my self) but the knee on right side was in pain since that momment..... let it rest out... been 10 days so far.
yes I can walk on it and it hurts all day like aching... I can stretch it, straighten it, and all without pain... but it hurts at times really bad in side of knee and inside.... like bruised feeling.... tried doing bike in gym low intensity and no pain but hurts after... I ice 20 on 20 off 3-5x A day doesn't seem make difference with icing it much.... only on motion pills makes pain go away....
I hope its not a tear in meniscus or ACL. I hope its a sprained knee only.... and I heard it can last 2-4 weeks.... im on 10th day... anyone have idea?

Yup...see a sports ortho...one that works with your local pro or college teams. They are the best at what they do. This cannot be diagnosed from the Internet.
Doc will do an x-ray to see if there is any structural damage. That's usually negative. If so, the exam is a HUGE help in reaching a diagnosis. With every push, pull, twist, turn and bend of the knee, the doc rules out what the problem is not. Once he does a specific maneuver and they have to peel you off the ceiling, then the focus will be on whatever part of your knee that movement tested.
There are times when the ortho will suspect something and order an MRI to make sure. The problem is that MRIs are very frequently inconclusive for soft tissue damage. The doc will recommend a course of treatment, maybe even a cortisone injection to alleviate the inflammation. This tends to be standard, conservative practice.
Almost 20 years ago, if the doc couldn't figure it out, he'd just "scope" the knee. I had four knee issues in my 50's...all the MRIs were negative...the four scopes repaired one meniscus and one femoral condyle on each knee. Nowadays, the docs seem reluctant to do arthoscopy anymore. Don't know why.
You can ask for some Voltaren Gel (RX in the US)...a GREAT topical anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. Use a few times daily, especially at bedtime. Ice and elevate...give it time and follow the doc's instructions. If it is something like a confirmed torn ACL, yes, they will repair that surgically. You won't know what this is until the doc does the x-ray and exam. Find a good one in your area...

Insurance companies are one big reason and this will probably get worse in the future. I had a cortisone in section in my L2,3,4&5 yesterday. I needed this 2 months ago and have been forced to go through he'll and back because the Dr wouldn't/couldn't do it. I asked him if his refusal was because I had the limit within a certain time frame. He said Medicare now only allows so many in a time frame so in lieu of cortisone relief I was hitting the MS contin and oxy. Of course the next thing is to criminalize the Dr for over prescribing opiates as opiates are every politicians buzz word right now. Between insurance companies and politicians we are going to see a huge rise in suicides in the US and other civilized countries. The human brain can only stand so much pain before snapping and all the PT (which I'm also taking but about to run my limit $$ wise) and hocus pocus stuff won't cure. Its obvious I'm being pushed right to the operating table like it or not. Like most people, I prefer docs being responsible for my health care decisions than an insurance boards or politicians.
BTW my friend, I sent you an email earlier in the evening.
