I am facing a second total knee replacement because the first continues to be painful and has limited range of motion. My surgeon says you must wait one year between surgeries as the scar tissue grows for about a year. He says if you go in before the year it will make the scar tissue more active. Just something to think about in your situation. Best to you

i had TKR 7.5 months ago and cant straighten my leg its 15 degrees off, and i cant bend it beyond 80 degrees i exercise it everyday but it doesnt make any difference. I think it is due to scar tissue? I dont know what else it could be and the surgeons dont know or wont tell me, basically they said it might be like that forever, i have lost faith in the NHS, private patients get treat a lot better. it may be scar tissue, I will give the knee 12 months before asking for another operation to try and increase range of movement.

I had my TKR two year ago also, and have had one surgery to remove scar tissue, but am having a revision done in April. The surgeon is that busy, but he's one of the best at Duke... Im dreading having to go through another surgery, but my knee was not done correctly the first time, so.....
