Knee manipulation!

Hi so I've been to see the registrar today, I'm 7 weeks 4 days out of surgery. I thought he would sign me off as I've got to a 90 degree bend in my knee BUT nope he said he feels I'm stuck at 90. He did say he will give me 3 more weeks to try to get more flexion but it's not looking good sad I had patella surgery and he said it's a complex surgery which can prove difficult in rehabilitation. I really don't want manipulation but that's my only option it seems sad so worried!

Can you go to a swimming pool or a hot tub to work on your bend? It really helped me.

Hi I would suggest that if you have a partner who is fairly strong get them to help you do manual manipulation, if you don't want to be put out again you have two weeks to get it moving, lay on your back on bed, heat knee with hot flannels for about 10 minutes, get a piece of slippy silky material or a plastic bag under foot raise your knee as high off bed as you can then get other half to push from ankle firmly to break scar tissues up repeat for 10 mins over and over allowing knee to go back to mattress, this will hurt so take painkillers about 30 mins before you start, gently at first, don't overdo it, every day as often as you can with possibly an hour or so between, also do standing back kicks slowly

What in particular has you worried about a manipulation? I know everyone can have different results, but I had a manipulation 3 weeks ago and it was amazing, helped me SO much. Trying to do a manipulation without anesthesia will be painful, but if you go slow, you could see some results. Good luck, and keep us posted!
