knee pain 5 months post surgery after tkr

I had bilateral  tkr 5 months ago and was doing great, when 2 weeks ago one of my knees swelled up and I was in a lot of pain.  I could barely walk and my knee was very stiff.  My Dr. tried to drain it and he pulled out 1/2 syringe of blood and told me that I had tore tissue or blood vessel for over use (I do work retail and have been on by feet 8 hours a day) I have been icing, elevating, now I am trying heat, but my knee is still very sore and aches.  Any one else experience this?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

I was told never to use heat when th e r e is bleeding. ice, rest and elevation. You may have to try working fewer hours and getting off your feet more. Stop or drastically cut back exercise. I had a gterrific bleeding problem to start my problems as I had a r are tumor blow up so I know the pain that pooling blood can cause. Keep up with reg Dr visits so the blood doesn't dry and cause more problems where they would have to do surgery to clean it out.
