I have seen the surgeon multiple times since, have used OT anti-inflams as well as prescription pain meds with no effect. still have heavy swelling as well as pain in the surgery spot and behind the knee and thigh. any suggestions anyone

Never had that done on my knee but I have had plenty others all I can say for certain any knee surgery is painful some more then others. With a total knee sometimes it can be 6 months or more before it starts feeling better. I am also aware you can hurt like hell your knee can be swollen and tender to the touch butwhen you see a Dr. he looks at does an examination ( using his hands checking for sore spots ) and you are ready to leap off the table and then he says everything looks normal. I hate to say this because it stinks but unless you have an infection and your x-rays look good there is nothing the Dr. can really do. My suggestion do your exercises take your pain meds use ice frequently and be patient.
