Knee pain following use of a boot!

I had my talo navicular fusion on 21st June and all went really well. I was told I could go back into normal shoes 3 months on. I am still however reliant on crutches as despite absolutely NO pain in my foot now, I have pain in my knee on that side which stops me walking normally. Has anyone else experienced this and does it subside when you start  to walk level again? It’s really frustrating!!

Your idiot surgeon, like mine, forgot to tell you to get an Even up device to level out your gait.  I got an incredibly bad back, totally in spasm, from walking in a boot with nothing on the other foot to level it out.  I finally worked the problem out for myself.......   I had my triple fusion on June 4th and , like yours, the operation went went well in that the fusion has worked but I have had other tedious problems from wearing a cast in very hot weather .  I am now however walking slowly and carefully and just use one crutch to take the weight off it if I have to walk for longer - like today when I was at our local County Agricultural Show.  It may be of course that you have got a nasty little case of osteoarthritis in your knee - like me.......

Yes I did feel when I was in the boot that I was  walking up and down as I was moving! My knee was ok until now but now its quite painful to walk on without crutches. I luckily have an ultrasound device and am using it a couple of times a day and it seems to be very slightly better, but it really annoys me that if my knee wasnt painful I could now be walking properly without crutches. cry
