Hi Anna who do you work for? When you say health work are you on about occupational health? Have you had a TKR? I work for the NHS and they will give you 6 months full sick pay, if you are on a phased return they will also pay you for your normal hours because it is classed as special leave. Personally if you feel ok and your GP is happy for you to return to work go for it. If you are not wait until you see your consultant and take it from there X

Having worked in a school kitchen when my children were in primary school I know what working in a school kitchen is like!

Before you think about a return to work think on these points ......

1/ Are you able to walk without using a walking stick?

2/ Do you still have pain & swelling?

3/ Can you handle the demands of work in a busy kitchen?

If you answer yes to 1 & 2 & no to 3, then you don't sound as if you are ready to return to kitchen work just yet. In which case wait until you see your consultant & have your x ray, with a view to return in June, depending on surgeon, on phased return.
