I know it's a scary thought but hopefully to allay some of your fears my 78yr old friend had a knee replaced last November and was driving again in 4 weeks. She made a complete recovery and couldn't be happier that she had it done. BUT you have to be diligent in doing the exercises after the op. I'm sure it will go well, best wishes.

I've a relative who has had an ankle replacement and a knee replacement. Before the knee she was virtually wheelchair bound. Now she is mobile and active - although careful to limit the amount o walking she does so as not to wear out the joints. She gets her main exercise from a daily swim. Life is much better since the operations. All the best!
