Knee roughness after TKR

Can someone tell me if they have experienced roughness and clicking in the new knee? I was told by the surgeon that it would go away eventually. My PT said I may have to live with it. Which is true? It makes walking feel uncomfortable.

Clicking, clunking, popping......yup, yup and yup.  Could last for 12-18 months (decreasing) or last even longer.  I'm 2 years post-op and saw my spine surgeon after a January laminectomy.  He sat on a low stool and was checking for strength in my legs.  Tried the left one and it give out a loud "pop" RIGHT IN HIS EAR!!!!!  He fell off the stool!!!  It does lead to some interesting moments...

Hi Roger, I'm 9 weeks p o, when I first had my new knee it clicked a lot, which I was warned of, & told it would eventually disappear as the new knee wore in. Now I feel it a lot less than before, so I'm hoping with time it will disappear. Before the op it made terrible noises with searing pain, but at least now I have no pain, which was all I'd hope for. All the best. J

I am almost four months post op TKR and I have the symptoms you describe but they have improved weekly and are much less noticeable.  Much better than the pain before surgery.

Right TKR 13 months ago & left TKR 4 months ago. The clickety-click seems to go with the territory and almost getting used to it now-a-days. Fortunately.......... still excused washing-up duties because standing for lengthy periods = pain & burning sensation down right leg (glute to toes) so looking forward to just the clickety-clicks sometime in the future?
