knees

down to 1.5  mg pred  have been for 4 weeks.  but for about 2 month i have had probs with my knees,  but it isnt  like pmr pain  where it goes from  buttocks. down back of thighs.  its like just knee pain nothing else.  been on pred for 3.5 years,   apart fron knees  i feel  good.   no other pain  at all.

 so what could it be  any  ideas   friends

    It could well be osteoarthritis - pred also helps that but the pain will emerge at lower doses.

      thanks eileen thatswhat i thought but just needed another person to con firm my thoughts.hope you are well.  really do feel better than last time iwas  down to 1.5  mg x

    I had a torn miniscus in my knee several years ago....doctor gave me

    4 cortisone shots into knee, I think it was a week apart and haven't

    really had any problems since then.  A lot depends on your age.

    If you have knee injury fluid could build up.  I do have swelling in

    the ankles but I'm 78 and think that's fairly common.  Try to watch

    salt but am a popcorn freak.......Probably need knee x-rayed to

    be sure...

    just as a second thought,  when i go  back to docs with blood results.  with  what i think is athritis in my knees.  will my bloods be  raised  as they would be  with pmr,

      if so  how will i know if it really is  athritis  or  pmr..  even though i dont think it is
