i am sure it will depend in severity of. your medical problem.

i had left TKR early March and still get occasional twinge.but not bad at times

    we are all experiencing different

    issues and pain levels .

may be your Dr /surgeon is best to ask.

I think a lot depends on how bad the knee is. I had more pain straight after left TKR but more movement, good rom. Right one, although the first done, is getting there. Also how your health is can play a part. I was in better health the 2nd time around.

If I were to guess I think they both would stink however to be more specific depending on your car whether its an automatic or stick I would choose based on that. If you have a stick go with right if its an auto go with left. Personally I have had 5 TKR's on just the L looking at another round of fun and games with a possible 6th.

Hi there,  it’s interesting that you ask this question.  I have been asking myself that same question. For some reason it seems my left knee was the worst knee. I have had both hips and both knees totally replaced.  Both knees were in very bad shape.  My left knee was replaced in January 2018 and I think it’s  taking longer to get better than it did for my right knee.

Each knee op is different, even on the same person.  There is no way to tell.  If you drive an automatic car, get the left done first.  If you drive stick, good luck.  You will need a lot of muscle rebuild to handle the clutch.  Even on an automatic, you need ROM movement and some strength to push on the brake.  Other than driving, I don't think it makes a difference which one you do first...unless you're an NFL placekicker and you need one specific leg to do your job...
