I had a fussion 13 years ago now and have just managed to come off opiod pain meds but suffering chronic back pain, I was wandering if there was anyone who has been through similar and has any advice on pain management without meds please

Hi I've have had a fusion 20 years ago, and the only thing out there is stimulator but it's a big decision because you have to make that you get the right one and not run into more problems, i was a failed fusion have the stimulator in but That to for has failed I gave it over 2:years and still no relief still in alot of pain and they want me to keep this in I say it's my body I'm not a Guinea pig where they can just pick and put u in more pain and bringing you to your breaking point, I've cried I've had no sleep procedure after procedures and no relief, no one understands.
Please before you make any life changing experiences look into them all, was promised that I would reduce the pain meds, no reduction in pain meds I'm worse off.
Investigate every stimulator out there before making any decisions.
Good luck
Cynthia

Carolineq8,
I won't do a chiropractor with the fusion it's S1-L-5 and I'm a failed one so i stay clear of them,
Hope you find some relief they did the same to me with work. On disability because of all the meds and pain I'm in.
I hope you the best
Cynthia

I had the fusion about 3 years ago, I was in Norco for 6 months, I have implanted the spinal cord stimulator about 10 months ago ,it helps 50%,
still in pain , but I avoid medications , I just leave day by day with pain, I try everything natural like roots, herbs, oils, massage , but must of all do
not to push my self to do some shores that I did before, I'm disabled now
I learn how to leave with pain, and faith in God. God bless you and hope you find releif to your pain.

Hi, forgat to mention if the pain is so bad I take Tylenol 3, or cold pad, hot pad, but my pain in my left side was a consequences of the fusion, I did not have that pain before , my pain is my left buttocks and down to my foot . And can't do any treatment do to my fusion, was a big error by my part to have done the fusion.

Ye me to I get so angry with myself but I know that's not going to help, also my surgeon in my opinion didn't do his job properly I wasn't given any physio, brace, walking aids meds etc just sent from hospital with no follow up or anything also the nurse took me to the bathroom and took my drain out of my spine which I had no clue was there but I passed out on the loo floor, that can't be good either just one bad thing after another xx
