Hello Everyone,

I am 31 years old; I am suffering from erectile dysfunction for ~2 years. I have been trying to find the root cause of the problem for ~2 years. Recently found that I have a disc protrusion in my L5-S1 with impingement in my S1 nerve root. I came across below research papers which talks about patients’ erectile function improves after treating their L5-S1 issue.

I have done no form of neurological examination or testing for my erectile dysfunction so far. Below specified are my symptoms

Symptoms:

1)Ache and burning sensation in my lower back.

2)Burning sensation in my legs all the way from thigh to foot. Lesser on the thigh more on the calf and foot.

3)Above symptoms aggravate when I stand for more than an hour.

4)Sometimes I have discomfort in my pelvic area.

5)Slight loss of sensation in my Penis when erect.

6)Some of the other problems which doctors think could be related

a.Erectile dysfunction

b.Hypothyroidism (TSH high, Free T4 is usually low but in my case TSH and Free T4 was high, doctors were suspecting something to do with pituitary gland communication may be nerves related issue)

c.Gut health – Maldigestion/Malabsorption

d.Muscle weakness

e.Low libido

Note: I was already screened for low testosterone, liver function, SHBG, diabetes and cardio-vascular health.

I have been on vegetarian diet for past few months, viagra is also not effective - I get weak erections even if take viagra.

Anyone experienced or know anyone who has experienced sexual dysfunction as a result of nerve impingement? Any help or direction here is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
