Labia Minora pain?

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've had a somewhat constant soreness in one of my inner labias for a few years now. I've never had sex or anything like that, so I don't think I have an std/sti. The pain is only in my longer labia (I have asymmetrical labia) and I'm honestly not sure why it hurts. I have some fairly large fordyce spots inside of it that concern me, could they be inflamed or infected? I'm not sure how fordyce spots work. It only hurts if I squeeze it, but a slight squeeze does hurt quite a bit and my other labia isn't like this. I guess I should mention that I have an uncomfortable dryness in my vagina sometimes. I don't use soaps or anything that could irritate it. I'm an older teenager so I don't know if my hormones might have anything to do with it. I'm very embarrassed by these issues, so any advice will be greatly appreciated!

have you ever heard of vulvodynia? do you have any weird discharge?

It sounds as though the Fordyce glands are badly blocked and possibly may become infected. Yes, your hormones could have something to do with the problem. Possibly your estrogen levels have not reached their peak yet. Do you use tampons? they could be contributing to the dryness as well. Do you get a creamy discharge mid way between periods? Are your breasts developed OK?

I've recently started using tampons, but I've dealt with this pain and dryness long before then. I do get discharge in between my periods and I think my breasts are developed but they're small.
