Labyrinthitis and Trapped Nerve In Neck

Hi everyone, I just wanted to hear if any of you also had a similar situation to me.

I was feeling dizzy and this affected my everything so I went to see my GP. He gave me some medication for the dizziness but then I I explained about this horrible, debilitating pain I get in my neck, shoulders and head which is so sore it makes me feel sick.

He poked around and then found I had a trapped nerve in my neck. He explained that this is often what happens with labrynthitis sufferers because we hold our head differently due to the dizziness and that traps the nerve. His treatment for this was simply take ibuprofen and paracetamol (which hasn't helped at all!!!)

I was wondering if any other Labrynthitis sufferers have had this issue as well?

It's honestly making this whole thing a massive struggle and has gotten so bad that it's prevented me from going to work.

Have you gotten any massages to work out the kinks?   Not a spa type of massage, but a deep tissue PT type of massage?   I got one last week and the gal spent 40 minutes on just my head and neck and boy did that make a difference!

If you have a trapped nerve he should dam well be sending you for physio.  At the very least some ultra sound in your neck which I had  for that once. ,Had about three treatments in IN a row and it worked better than physio in fact! However in the meantime there is a good Triggerpoint  therapy thing you can do.  just google Trigger point for pinched nerve,

there,s videos and all sorts.  The neck is usually affected due,to,the upper back being too tight etc. so although your neck feels bad, unless you release the upper back onesyou won.t get relief, that'swhynit,s called trigger point. And get some heat on that area as much as you can c. Okay.

According to the doc(s) - GP, ENT and another - I've had lab for 8 weeks. Not as dizzy now, but my thing is that I'm better for 4-5 days, the swelling returns to left side of neck for 4-5 days w/ dizziness and very brief and slight headaches...then gradually goes away so I can have another 4-5 good days... and the cycle repeats itself.

Have had MRI w/ dye, CAT, ultra sound on carotid arteries, a dozen blood tests for it seems everything... and so far all show nothing. Having a soft tissue MRI on neck today as it is swollen again.

The only steady thing has been pain and stiffness in upper shoulders/lower neck. No doc has told me anything about a trapped nerve.

Just another side of this, my rheumatologist said you can also get problems with your knees from a vestibular disorder, due to the fact that when you are constantly dizzy, you change the way you walk.  Most of us already have wear and tear in small parts of the knee, and it you start walking differenlty, over the course of a week or so, you can inflame those bad parts.  The bones are basically rubbing a different way inside the joint.  Anyway, this seems to have happened to me.  I've had VN-like symtoms fro the entire summer, and near the end of the summer (after a lot of excercising) both my knees became inflamed.  Lots of popping, clicking, and a little bit of pain.
