Told it was a virus. Now its back again. Anyone ever gets labs a second time?

My husband had Labyrinthitis (twice) One was on the day we were going on holiday, the second, while we were away (on top of a mountain!) Timing couldn't have been worse.
He was given an injection on both occasions,slept for hours, then woke with it gone. (different doctors, years apart)
Our family Dr told him any further episode and he would treat it as Menieres.

2-3 years apart (I think) We weren't told what it was, just that it would work.
