Lack Of Semen and Blood

Hello guys. Im a 57 year old male.

Maybe 4 years ago I noticed some blood in my semen. It happened a few times then it stopped so I paid no more attention to it. There was info online saying it usually clears.

Another year on and I noticed hardly any semen in my condom. I mean like 20% of normal. I went to the doctor about this and he said it's not that unusual in older males but booked me in for a psa blood test.

I did the test and it came back normal. No further action.

Though my semen levels never did recover and remain just a few drops.

However - in the last few month I notice that the tissue I use to clean my penis after ejaculation is slightly red. This kind of comes and goes - sometimes it is clear.

I called the doctor today and I have a telephone consultation next week but obviously I am scared about the prospects of illness - investigation - treatment and of course - death.

I have no issues with urine flow and there are no other symptoms. I am hoping it's something that can be cleared up with a course of anti biotics - but I am preparing myself for worse news.

It's the start of a very unwelcome journey - what can I expect?

    Two things come to mind:

    **

    1. Perceived Ejaculatory Volume Reduction**

As the name suggests, this is a situation where a man has ejaculatory dysfunction. This can be linked to medication and some diseases eg diabetes.

      **

    2. Retrograde Ejaculation **

When you ejaculate, IF semen travels back into your bladder instead of flowing out of your penis, you will notice LOWER volume of semen. This condition is called Retrograde Ejaculation.

I suggest you see a GP that specialises in men's health. He should be able to suggest treatment. I would see such a GP first. He may solve the problem and you may not need to see an urologist.

You might have bladder stones. It happened to me before and I didn't know what it was until one day I peed out a small sharp crystal. It was a bladder stone that was lodged inside my urethra near the penis. After that, my problem was gone. Hank
