Yes lack of sleep can cause a very dry mouth. I haven’t slept well for years and after really bad nights in a row my whole body feels awful. I liken it to a massive jet lag feeling I feel all out of sync and really miserable. Have you tried all the usual remedies to help you sleep deep breathing, tensing and relaxing the body, dark room, meditation cd etc etc etc! None of these work for me so I lay there and try not to worry about not sleeping ( the fear of not sleeping is the biggest culprit) I do buy over the counter Nytol (the 1 a night. The herbal ones are hopeless) I don’t take them every night but just when I’m going through a bad sleepin faze. I find they do help me. The drs don’t offer much sympathy I was just told that lack of sleep never killed anyone. Obviously my Dr doesn’t have a sleeping problem!
Best wishes Angie
