Lactose intolerance

i,ve been suffering with excess belching for a few years.i tried digestive enzymes with betaine HCL. These work great for about a year then stopped working. I found that drinking water triggered a belching fit that could last for hours. The doctor proscribed pantoprozal which seamed to help but caused rebound acid reflux after one week. I could drink water if I added lemon juice but it to stopped working after about 5 months. I haven’t been drinking milk because my wife is intolerant to it. However a few months ago we baught some in for my grand daughter. I started drinking it and looking back saw that I had developed exzema at that time but controlled it with cream from the doctor. I,ve just cut out lactose ie milk and I haven,t belched since three days. The exzema has stopped itching. With the belching I felt extremely ill. That’s gone as well. I actually feel healthier. How are other people managing and what symptoms do they experience.
