Ladies, is it normal to itch after an outbreak?

So just in a week and a half will be almost a month it's taken for my first HSV2 out break to go away. I've taken 3 valtrex 3 times a day for almost 2 weeks. I chose to do the supressive therapy where I take one a day. I was wondering if after an outbreak if it's normal to still itch a bit? I'm scared to itch it, because the first outbreak was just awful. That's an understatement to say the least. I have some zinc ointment I been putting on it. And just washing with soap and water as normal. Not over doing anything. Prior to this I had a bacterial viginosis, that has gone away. No more smell. When I wipe it's kinda yellow, looks like jelly...nasty I know. But does not feel like an outbreak again. What else should I do? Is this normal? I'm so scared about another outbreak. And also when you workout I heard no to thongs with workout pants. Do you suggest cotton underware? No thongs?

Itching while healing is pretty common. Can also be a prodromal sign for some. I love tea tree oil (diluted) to relieve itching and/or make it feel clean and fresh down there. I just put some on a cotton pad, add a bit of tap water, then wipe it all over.

Cotton underwear with a regular fit are better for you, even without herpes. Just bought two packs of cotton bikini-style panties the other day, in fact. I'm saving the fancy synthetic stuff for special occasions only, not that I'm expecting any for some time now, sigh! Lol

I hope I'm not getting another one right now. Is it just regular tree tea oil? The one that people pit in their hair to avoid lice? Kinda smells minty?

Yea, I'm not expecting any either. I'm so scared to even touch anything down there. I notice my discharge is kinda jelly looking. Almost like if I'm ovulating. Ended my period last Friday....and I feel pulsing down there now in just a spot...ugh this is so fustrating

Probably not another one. Yes, just regular tea tree oil. Leaves you feeling kinda minty fresh down there, which is why I like it. It's also antiseptic, so a double win. Really does help relieve itching as well. Which HSV type do you have again?

      Papsmear showed HSV....

Bloodwork came back inconclusive. But the obgyn said it definitely was an outbreak. I'm getting retested in 4 weeks
