See your doctor about increasing your dosage, you could also try another PPI medication, Nexium (Esomerprazole) I switched to this medication when other PPI meds didn't work for me. Been on this medication for 2 years now, and it works well for me. I am on a high dose 80mg - 40mg in the morning and 40mg at night.
you shouldn't have to put up with the bad heartburn, it's not good for the Barrets either.
also make sure your diet is good. Small meals, staying away from acidic foods, spicy, greasy, too much of salads etc, you could google a diet for acid reflux. There see many ways to keep the heart burn under control. Your diet is very important in staying on top of things. If you've had Barrett's for 11 years I am sure you would be aware of this.
all the best, hope you find what works best for you.

Zoton is a brand name. Your prescription for lansoprazole will normally be filled with a generic (unbranded) version which should be identical.
The normal maintenance dose for lansoprazole is 30mg but some people need to take the higher 60mg dose.
Discuss it with your doctor. He may decide to switch you to an alternative in case you've developed a tolerance for lansoprazole. eg 30mg lansoprazole is equivalent to 20mg omeprazole is equivalent to 40mg pantoprazole.

Thanks for the replies ,well solved my problem the Lanzoprazole I had been taking for the last 4 months is a cheap none generic brand. I really thought my Barretts was getting really worse couldn't sleep with the acid and topping up all the time with rennies...really miserable time..even started to double up on my medicastion which was still useless. Anyway I found an old empty box of the Lanzoprazole I took sometime ago that really worked to the chemist..told him I don't beleive the ones he had given in the orange box me were true Zoton and that this old box I had found were the right ones, he hesitated and said they are all the same but I insisted that they aren't, so he went into the back of his shop spent sometime talking to his co-workers checked something out on his pc..came back and said yes sir you are correct..these are not true Zoton but a cheap branded copy, he ordered the true Zoton which I picked up the next day and WOW!!!! What a relief 15 mg and they work..I've got my life back. So any of you guys out there that think your Barretts is getting worse may be getting a false reading due to you to using cheap none generic Lanzoprazole..which have flooded the market..I was told to always ask for ZOTON..so guys go for it, here in the UK Zoton are in a purple box..ask you quack to put on repeat prescription ZOTON ONLY..Hope this helps you guys, and don't be scared of asking docs or pharmasist for Zoton only..beleive me the others DO NOT WORK!!!!
