Laparoscopic myomectomy- recovery time?

Hi Fibroid Sisters,

I've known since late 2018 that I have fibroids but the doctors just recently recommended me for a laparoscopic myomectomy in the next few months. My fibroids doubled in size in 1.5 yrs and now i have three large fibroids with the worst being a submucosal at almost 7cm!

I'm thankful for the doctors to remove them but am curious **what kind of recovery time is realistic, coming from those with a laparoscopic myomectomy experience? **

I'm also worried about my first period post surgery but there's lots of previous threads to reference for that.

Thanks!

I had a robotic lap myomectomy of a 10cm fibroid. the first 2 days I was extremely sore but managed with only ibuprofen or tylenol, after that i took no meds. i returned to work as a nurse practitioner after 10 days. Recovery from a robotic lap myomectomy is much easier than from an open from my understanding.

Thanks, Micaela. I actually posted this well before my laparoscopic myomectomy and didn't hear anything until now, so thank you for replying! I actually had a little different, but similar, experience to yours. I was on ibuprofen and tylenol plus oxy for 2 days then just ibuprofen and tylenol for 6 days. They had to cut my uterus open pretty good to get three submucosal tumors out so I was pretty sore. All good now! Hope you're doing well as well 😃
