Laparospic Partial Hysterectomy....advice!

Posted , 3 users are following.

To all you ladies who are terrified or unsure about having a laparospic hysterectomy as I was! Please find some help in me saying it's the best decision I made! Everyone is different of course and everyone needs to make their own decision. Although I am only 1 week post op I can feel the benefit of having that massive mass of fibroids removed already! I know longer feel bloated or look pregnant! I can go to the loo properly and feel less tired although still battered, bruised and exhausted from the op! I still feel much better! All I can say is that you must rest! Listen to your body! I am very grateful to a lady on here who was going through a similar op and we helped each other by supporting each other trough the scary parts and I can safely say the scariest part is fear of the unknown! Just ask people questions that have had the op, ask the professionals! Don't be afraid to ask! Remember that we all heal at different rates but we do all heal as our body is an amazing thing! Good luck with it all and I am more than happy to answer any question you may have if I am able! ??

Hiya that's fab you're doing so well 😀👍

Sorry but I didn't seem to get notified when your last message was posted...weird as that's happened a few times now.

Anyway, I'm so glad it went well and you're recovering well. Like you say, take it easy and let your body have time to heal.

I'm now 11 weeks post op and felt a real turning point around week 8 and feel much more like myself again. It's so nice not getting up for a wee 3/4 times a night like I was when I had my fibroid. My incision has healed really well and the surgeon did a very neat job indeed.

Think I've overdone it this week though as I feel completely drained the last two days and am now having a lie down even! Not done that for weeks and weeks....

    Take care x

Oh no worries this was a new post I think? That's great to hear about your incision. Did you have laparospic or a big cut? I'm getting different pains today like period pains which is quite strange! It's hard not to do much when you're usually so active isn't it! I guess it's only been 10 days though hey? Make sure you rest this weekend! We still have a lot of internal healing to do xx thanks for your kind words x
