oh I see natalie.. I think all consultant have there own way.

I had a total hysterectomy with no ovary removal as my doctor decided that would be the best option for me as im still young.

Am 35 and blessed to have two children so they are going to remove mine.

How long cant you lift etc for ?

lots of doctors prefer it that way sometimes even without a women really medically needing their ovaries removed, unless the ovaries are also causing you symptoms or have an underlining connection to your problems my doctor recommended against it so i didn't suffer early menopause.

doctors orders were nothing to lift for 6 weeks, I did very little movement as i was recovering and when i went for my follow up appointment my doctor was impressed on how well i was healing. I would recommend to walk as much as you can handle to prevent constipation that was my only "set" back.

I had my tvh no ovary removal as my consultant dont like removing healthy organs even though I'm 51.

I was told not lifting, bending or long standing for at least 6 weeks.. this is to prevent torn stitches and prolapsing other organs due to straining.

I took movicol for 6 months to allow good healing and absolutely no straining to poo.

if I couldn't go I would use a glycerine suppositories to empty the lower recturm and that caused an easy bowel release.

even now a year on I will not carry bags lift heavy items and only carry 2 pints of milk.

I could carry more above healed text book but I know my pelvic floor will not like it and also I'm putting all my surgeons work at risk.

I had hardly any pain and just took paracetamol post op even in hospital I fudnt take anything strong as my system cant take them.

I found pain wise it was really straight forward and nothing to worry about hun.

goid luck my friend and I'll be praying for a speedy recovery. x

    Thankyou so much.

Really helpful information. So thanks for taking the time.

I have endometriosis so i think thats why i need them removing.. Rubbish to go threw menopause at my age. My pain was causing me to have reflex syncope (like a seizure) so deffo best to have them removed. Not looking forward to it.

My pelvic floor is terrible and have just recently felt like i have some kind of prolapse. Should i let them know when surgeon comes around ? as i wouldnt want to have more surgery.

They said they are removing the neck of the womb too amd not just the uterus.

They said they will try key hole but may need to make a bigger incision.

People have also mentioned a morphine pump ?

I take regular 30/500 cocodamol as my pain is that bad. x

if you think you have a prolapse you need an examination beforehand .

I had my surgery privately so I saw my professor before hand to check how bad it was.

if you are under they may as well sort it all out in one go if that's what they think is the right thing yo do.

I had my whole uterus removed as ut had prolapsed so it all came out.
