I wanted to see what your experience with periods after surgery has been. I had my procedure on 6/12/19 and two weeks later i had my first period which was very light. My second period i had no cramps or any pain but I am experiencing clotting and very heavy periods. My doctor said my first three periods would be a normal.

Hello there,
Your doctor is right, tbh, my doctor/gyn did not tell me this, in fact it was me that spoke about my recovery and my thoughts to my doctor when we met after 3 months. Every woman's recovery is different.
It was a resident, where I work who had laproscoptic surgury, in Singapore, that said her doctor had told her first three are normal and the important ones, as its a sign of your body recovering and seeing how it bleeds(period). Advice: make sure you keep a journal of dates, thoughts, feelings, pain of your period. I am 5 months post open abdominal myomectomy , and all my periods have been 7 days long and with lots of clots. Tampons are now redundant, I use Tena pads, that can only cope with volume of bleeding. I am anemic, I did have two blood transfusions after my surgury as, I lost a lot of blood.
Allow your body to heal, recover and recycle well and fully, its a major surgury that one has taken. My periods now I have very little cramps, no pain in fact, I have accepted my body to allow the period to come when it does, especially as I had 25 removed, with a cyst, that was dissolved, too.
