Large lump below my anus. Any clues?

I developed a smaller lump below my anus a few days ago. There was no pain in the beginning. The next night I went to sleep and had trouble getting comfortable. The next night was worse, and by the third night I got no sleep. I went to see a general doctor and she said it was an infection. She gave me some antibiotics but it is super painful and the lump has gotten noticeably larger. Any help would be great. Thanks

    Go back to gp. I had exactly same problem and had to have abscess drained in hospital.
