Large white patches on glans and foreskin

So I first noticed pronounced white patches on my glans appear seemingly out of nowhere around 5 months ago and quickly the discoloration began spreading around the inner foreskin. I went to the doctor who suspected thrush and gave me the requisite treatment. This did nothing and when I went back he was out of ideas and referred me to a dermatologist. I've been on a never ending waiting list since (UK, NHS)

I strongly suspect this is lichen sclerosus. Since this came on I've noticed my foreskin tightening and occasional painful urination. The word patches are also spreading progressively. I have managed to get hold of some clobetasol steroid cream from an online pharmacy. I haven't used it yet because I know self diagnosing is a bad idea but I'm at my wits end here. It looks so damn awful down there, six months I had a perfectly normal, healthy looking penis.

Thoughts appreciated. Is there any inherent danger with treating it with clobetasol without a diagnosis?

Hi Man. Yes it does look like LS can you go private to the dermatologist? It probably would be the quickest way to get diagnosed.

I haven't got a great deal of money and it's super expensive. But I feel like I have no choice. There's a urologist in my city who specialises in LS I might try and make an appointment.

Yes I understand that it is expensive but you would know if it was LS and start treatment you can always go public after you see them. And you can explain your situation many of them work in the public health as well as being private. Do let me know how you get on

I know it's expensive alright but peace of mind is priceless you could be waiting months for the other appointment at least this way you will know.
