Yes I am having this done next Monday I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days no strenous work for 2 month is what the colon surgeon told me. What this is I am having half of my colon removed and a temporary bag put in no I don't like this idea but just as long it keeps me alive and ok then I am fine with it. I have a 5 cm polyp I have another one that is very small by my appendix and too me I think they need too remove that as well I was told the surgery for that is painful which this procedure here is also. If you have 5 cm's you better get those out before it turns into cancer .

The 5cm polyp wasn't removed in the colonoscopy? Why are you having Laparoscopic Colon Resection?

Patty I send prayers your way for surgery to goes well and a speedy recovery I don't understand doctors when a patient tells them something is wrong they need to listen we know what's not normal for us I've been telling doctors for a year now something is wrong they rely on my scans saying nothing is showing up I understand that but why am I having symptoms I asked about slow growing tumors but can't get them to do markers sometimes it's not what we think but sometimes it is I even offered to pay privately to have markers done

Hi Patti
I was told that I might have to have a 'bag- (my father had one)- but luckilyI didn't-Just had laproscopic surgery
removal of an ovary and 8 inches of colon-That was 2015-t.g. I am still alive-
Just want to wish you good luck with the surgery-hope all will go well-I know how it feels to go through this kind of surgery. Be strong you will overcome it all!
Good wishes - let us know how it went-
Susan

Thank you I was told I would have 4-5 incisions which is fine and only a 1/2 inch and yes they have to go threw my belly button and they also have used this procedure for having falliopn tubes removed and they also do this for gall bladder surgery which I have had that it's nothing to having that done.

Yes I had my surgery on the 16th and everything looked real good no cancers no where and yes they can tell in my lymph nodes and they ran those polyps off to have those checked I an just really sore the only side effect I saw was just swollen feet and ankles. I know my experience at the hospital I stand in was not a good one though the doctor and his assistant's and nurses was ok too have them come in but this person and that person up all hours of the night was ridiculous. I came home yesterday yay and guess what he did not have to put in a bag after all I am eating liquid diet still can't wait too start back on solids stomach is empty. In order for me too.leave the hospital I had too have a bowel movement I had 2. And thanks too the nurse I had a mess last night and this morning too clean up and I ruined my underwear and bedsheet all because she gave me 4-5 laxatives to go that's too many I can see 1or 2 but not that and I had it all over me.and took a shower. I can not take a bath for 2 weeks or swim either I can get back too physical activity in 6 weeks. This surgery took 2 and a half hours I stayed in recovery for 4 hours way too long for that too. They had wraps around both of my legs so they would not clot or a clot went too my heart other than what has happen I am.feeling alot better.

Patty I'm so glad things went well and nothing alarming was found and no bag yeah that was too many laxatives but also don't let the mess you had bother you it happens they see it all the time if it makes you feel any better I had a procedure done where they fill your bladder full of water and take pictures they pulled the catheter out and I peed on the exam table and the doctor said do you have to pre I explained to him I don't always feel the urge then they told me to get dressed and I could go across the hall to go to the bathroom they walked out I stood up and soaked their floor I was so embarrassed my socks were soaked my legs were all wet thank goodness it happened before I was dressed I found some paper towels on a shelf and wiped the floor up before I left I didn't want to tell them I soaked their floor
