Hi Phillp: One good thing I can share is that Acid reflux does not have to be a lifetime issue. There are answers. Some people do well with a healthy diet and avoiding spicy foods, chocolate , coffee, donuts, beef, french fries, cake, and so on. I did research and came up with some answers.

bad bacteria in the gut causes bloating and can push acid back up. Low fiber diets cause slow transit time. And a weak lower esophageal sphincter allows acid to go upward into the esophagus and cause pain.

    1. So eat some probiotic yogurt 4 times a day, on an empty stomach.
    2. eat a large salad every day with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

3.Try to reduce stress, if possible.

4.Do my exercise for strengthening the lower esophageal sphincter.

Buy 5 large bottles of carbonated water. Do not refrigerate. Drink 10oz on an empty stomach. Then hold down the burp. Start with 5 minutes. Then burp. Do this 4 times a day. This can take practice, because your lower esophageal sphincter is weak and it may be uncomfortable at first. But will get easier in time.

Add 5 minutes to each session each week so by the fourth week you should be up to 20 minutes.

I suffered for years with reflux but now I no longer have it.

      Sorry. I'll try again:

Not necessarily. Most people with any kind of reflux usually have at least 4 other issues. One of these is bad bacteria in the gut (large intestine). In the old days, mothers would look at a child tongue to see if it was pink and clean or white and coated. The tongue is directly connected to the intestinal tract. If the tongue is coated then bad bacteria is in the gut. Because your doctor has intervened surgically to solve your digestive issues, you should contact your doctor before trying unusual treatments that could damage your LINX implant.

When I have a bad bacteria situation I take pepto bizmol tablets. Chew 2 chewable tablets and swallow. Then another treatment every 2 hours for a total of 3 treatments. The next morning you will find that your tongue is black. That means that all your bacteria has been killed off. Now you have a clean slate and should start eating PLAIN unsweetened organic probiotic yogurt every hour for 8 hours. Then every 4 hours for 3 days. You then need to keep eating this yogurt at least once a day on an empty stomach.

You should do research on this subject because some people have habits that lead to bad bacteria returning.

Probiotic capsules can help but new research shows that they can cause the body to forget how to maintain healthy bacteria.

Some studies show that PRE- biotics are the answer. Foods like sauerkraut and Apple cider vinegar.

I do know that high fiber diets can help, so I also recommend a large salad every day. Making a daily fresh vegetable and fruit smoothie can help fill the fiber void.

Slow transit time is directly related to bad bacteria buildup.

Because of your LINX, you may be on a special diet, so use my advice with caution. But, information is always helpful. John

I had gastritis, acid reflux, a hernia causing intestinal obstructions with vomiting, chronic constipation and massive bloating. And I was working full time.

I got so sick at one point, I could not stop this cycle and could not go to work. Fortunately, I was able to retire early. After a lot of research and ordering all my health records, I came up with a treatment plan that worked.

I started doing the carbonated water treatment, started focusing on eating high fiber foods, found myralax which I still take daily, and reduced my stress level. I also take 10 to 20 supplements daily to maintain my progress. And do light abdominal exercises.
