Laser Hemorrhoidectomy and fissurectomy. Complications and advise 10th day.

i got a laser surgery for 2 internal hemrrhoids, 1 external and a painful fissure. i am on day 10. i wanted to post this as it is the worst experience of my life. and this forum and all conversations helped me so much. i want to share the mistakes i made so it helps someone else. they make a big deal about quick recovery post laser, i would say the body takes its time. the post up issues - pain, bm, inflammation, not being able to get back to a normal soon after remain the same. i never bled before so i dont know how to comapre that. my main problem was the reoccuring fissure.

i wanted to have the organ function better and realising a surgical intervention can make it possible. i went for it.i was given a spinal anaesthesia and had a spinal headache for two days, that didnt make me realise how bad i was with my pain under. the bm hurt a lot a lot a lot! the swelling ohhhhh God i dont wish that on an enemy! you almost forget everything else in life. the antibiotics dry you up, the fiber bulks you up, the laxatives overactivate your bladder. so its all counter indications of what anyone should not be doing. i realised after a painful 8 days, the only thing to focus on first week is clean bm, and soft almost liquidy stools. for me the antibiotics dry me up. no matter how much fiberous food i consume so realised the hard way, depend on medicines. digestion wont work as normal, the body is dealing with trauma. so it needs external help. depend on the laxtaives that work. i started prune juice 7th day. could've started it earlier perhaps 5th day. until then do more laxatives and less fiber. the less pressure the bladder feels in bm, the better. most important you would feel swollen forever. you will start living with a heavy bottom. after bm i felt so tight and undone.. like i have poop stuck or i still have to poop. it helps with the stools pass easy and the inflammation is not triggered. i am still dealing with this one huge issue at 10 days. from what ive read this resolves going into week two. to have the muscles function better.. ive started walking a little about 20 mins and doing kegel exercise on the sitz bath. drink lots of water. even if you're drinking a lot .. drink more. i take pictures to record my healing. and it helps a lot. it did help. so to focus on the healing-

water - lots

no processed food

fruits almost 2 hourly

laxatives stool softners twice a day

prune juice

a hot water bottle to keep under the bum for soothing the pain.i lived wit it.

give yourself a minimum 2 weeks.

the whole 3rd day at work is bull crap! set expectations right.

if anything doesnt feel right it isnt. go to a doctor who knows he has to answer your questions. i had a good one who deputed his assistant to answer all queries.

depend little on painkillers.

i am still hanging in here. not back to normal life. can only indulge in activities that allow me toilet access. so working from home. and stepping out only if necessary. increased time for toilet activity. almost 3/4 hours a day. the swelling is still there. i feel heavy after the bm. like i have hard stool stuck..

hoping this resolves. pain doesnt bother anymore.

a big lifestyle compromise for 2 good weeks. sign up for that.

but nothing like natural remedies. if early on in life - perhaps in school these life skills were taught. i am 47 have had two normal vaginal birth. had hems after the second. been a vegetarian all my life, not much alcohol, smoker - 1/2 cigs a day. always up on my diet and fiver intake. junk is perhaps only weekends. ans yet... i had to get through this. the answer i think in the long run us to keep good fat a part of your diet . a spoonful of good olive or coconut oil first thing in the morning. and anti inflammatory foods top priority - green tea, ginger, turmeric, garlic. no or minimal processed food and refined flour. this is what i think is long term management. anyhow. lets hope i get back to the gym soon. it would seem futile otherwise to ho through all this if i dont get my health back. . i going to do the lax twice e a day for another week. and get back here on my progress.
