laser surgery for prostatitis

Good morning

First of all, sorry for my English. I am writing from Europe. I suffer from prostatitis since 2001, with good, bad and very bad periods.

In 2003 I already had a cervicotomy of the bladder, which helped me several years and since then I have had all kinds of treatment, the last one two intraprostatic injections of anti-inflammatory drugs.

"Officially" my prostatitis is non-bacterial, but I sincerely believe that all have been at one time or another. In addition, since 2001 the ultrasound scans show a lot of calcifications, which means that at least there was an infection.

I know there are things that make me worse. Alcohol, cold, are poison for me. Ejaculating too often unleashes hell on my prostate. And that's been a problem because I've been very sexually active. But I know that if I go 15 or 20 days without ejaculation, without intercourse or masturbation, I get much better.

My urologist says we have reached the goal. I am 55 years old, I am not going to have any more children, and he proposes a prostate operation (thulium laser). the truth is that 20 years ago another urologist already told me that it could be the solution but I was young and I wanted to have children. Fortunately I didn't and now I have 3 wonderful children.

Although prostate surgery is not usually performed for prostatitis, the truth is that more and more is being done. My urologist tells me that it will remove the stones and help improve my quality of life. In particular, it will solve my urinary symptoms (I have been urinating badly for years) and maybe the painful ones. He tells me that it will take at least 6 months after the operation.

He has already operated on more than 250 patients with prostatitis and his experience is good. I would like to know if there is anyone in this forum who has gone through this and what is their experience.

Thanks for reading me

    Hi Jose.

please do not allow anybody to cut out your prostate gland. You could be right and your prostate probably is infected with bacteria. Calcification on the prostate means infection present or past. If you can compare 2 prostate scans from the past and the Calcification has increased that suggest that it is ongoing infection.

Is your wife suffered with many water infections? Especially after sexual encounter with you? If the answer is Yes then that's another clue. you are passing her something.

Have you ever done a semen culture test or Stamey's test? If not - you must do it ASAP.

take care and message me private if you want to know more.
