LASTING LIPITOR SIDE-AFFECTS FOR 4 YEARS

Four years ago my doctor finally nagged me into doing a statin. Within two weeks I was having near-feinting spells, so I stopped taking it. A blood test showed "an enzyme had been stripped from my muscles". Additionally I noticed I didn't have any more stamina in my knees/legs, and I did have much more pain and weakness. Over the next couple of years I had various kinds of physical therapy for the apparent weakness/pain in my knees/legs: water therapy, physical therapy/message, cranial-sacral, acupunture, cortisone shot, more water therapy, weight lifting.... nothing helped. There has been NO IMPROVEMENT in the strength, stamina, or painfullness in my knees. I took Ubiquinol also. I have seen Orthopedics doctors including one specialist who told me my knees were NOT bone on bone and didn't need to be replaced. He had nothing to offer. The doctor who did my hysterectomy mentioned that her father had had the same reaction to Lipitor as I had. I don't know what more I can do....

Yes, I have lost weight but have a little fat around the middle I'd like to clear but as I'm older (male) I guess this is going to be a challenge (I want my six pack back!). It's the cakes that should be removed from diet. Also I have nuts for their nutrients but they are fattening so only a few at a time. Seeds the same so only a dessert spoon full a day. I try to either have porridge with water or just fruit for breakfast. It works quite well BUT evening meals MUST be small. Gotta watch the sugar though it appears in so many things.

Okay, Folks, Margaret here.... so I had an epiphany last summer... after 4 years of feeling like a "victim" from the Lipitor side affects, I realized I was sitting in my chair, avoiding the pain and get dangerously weaker. I decided I was only 60, too young to give up my life and the things I enjoyed doing, my identity is not a "VICTIM", SO I threw away my cane, started taking the supplement "cocktail", COLD TURKEY QUIT SUGAR, WHEAT, AND ALL THINGS CAFFEINE, AND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN FEELING BETTER. Within two weeks my knees felt a little better. I researched foods online that were anti-inflammatory, foods that were INFLAMMATORY, and foods that help lower cholesterol naturally. That list is hanging on the cupboards in my kitchen. Of course I lost weight, which helped... but, trying out OOLONG tea one day I discovered that caffeine had an immediately painful effect on my knees/legs. NO ONE can tell me that just loosing the weight helped. I know there are plenty of people out there who don't have a weight problem that took the Lipitor and had the same effects, and people out there who suffer from arthritis that HAVE TO eat properly to avoid inflammation of their joints. So, having talked to a fair number of people about my "life change" a lot of them can't handle giving up their wheat and sugar and caffeine... so be it, suffer as much as you want, but each of us has to come to our own pathway and our own reasons for taking care of ourselves. I have also been getting massage therapy for the last 4 months and just started physical therapy with someone who worked with me 2 years ago on the Lipitor results - they are ASTOUNDED
