Hi, Taylor. Sorry you're not feeling well. Your parents need to get you to a doctor for a checkup and bloodwork. Do you feel fatigued after doing any activity? I don't mean just slightly fatigued--real fatigued? This is one of the main symptoms of CFS/ME. After other illnesses have been ruled out by a qualified doctor, you can look at the possibility of CFS/ME. I do hope you feel better soon.

Hi Taylor, there are two good reasons you could be very sleepy all the time.  The first one is puberty and the second is depression.

You only grow bone tissue, muscle tissue, etc, when you are sleeping, so babies and teenagers, who are both building a lot of new tissues, need a lot of sleep.  So if you are not getting at least 10 hours of sleep a night, go to bed earlier, have a glass of milk before bed, and read something very dull to make you sleepy.  (Geology does it for me.)

If food does not appeal to you try eating as much fresh fruit as possible.  I can always eat cherries, grapes, berries, etc.  I think the antioxidants help.

The other cause is depression.  If getting extra sleep does not solve the problem then see a pyschologist for a work up.  If possible, avoid pills.  There are better ways to deal with depression.  One of them is getting active, going out in sunlight every day, maybe gardening, playing with a dog, etc.  I have lived in Alaska and now I live in Hawaii and believe me, sunlite makes a BIG difference.

It's been a long time since puberty for me, but I have suffered from depression all my life and  I found that keepint busy and especially being outdoors made a big difference in my energy levels.  If you are too exhausted to play outside at least sit or lay in the sunshine.  (If you are pale, use sunblock.)

I don't know what other problems you may have but the good side of my advice is that no matter what is wrong with you, eating fresh fruit, getting more sleep, and playing outside cannot possible hurt you.  Good luck,

    Sunny
