I had a LAVH 5 days ago and was wondering if its normal to have a lot of severe hip pain start a few days after surgery. Also is it normal to have no spotting or discharge at all since surgery.

Yes to both hip pain from position you are in for op is usual and I didn't bleed at all until about 2 weeks when I did too much but that was my own fault. Rest to help healing but also walk around as much as you can to get the blood flowing which helps healing too. Take care

Hi, I had the abdominal hysterectomy. Bleeding is normal for some women according to my gynae onco. As you are recovering, your body try to expel blood clots out from body (my case is bleeding with clots starting on the 8th day post op). Hip pain ---- well I think it is the sore muscle surrounding hips and pelvis bone that causes these pain as they recover. I am still having these pain and I am 2 weeks post op now. Tired and fatigue is also my best friend now...
