Laxido or Movicol. Magrogol

I am a lady of 90 years. I take Laxido for chronic constipation. I have diverticular disease and irritable bowel. The medication works but gives me such a sore anus. I had a hemorrhoidectomy years ago when the surgeon left one at the opening to prevent faecal incontinence, but I cannot trust my bowel completely so I wear an incontinence pad every night. The soreness from the Laxido persists. A sigmoidoscopy recently showed no sign of cancer in the sigmoid colon, just DV pouches and inflammation throughout. I already knew this from a barium meal examination years ago. I have many health issues and this added irritation just seems a bridge too far! I would be grateful for any advice.
