LBL post op

Hi I am one week post op

I have still been wearing a panty liner despite bleeding ceasing and it appears I am still having light bladder leakage even though I’m just lying on lounge majority of day.

Any body else experiencing or did experience this, praying it’s just due to swelling or something , the operation was meant to rectify this?

Five weeks till follow up so worried

    Hi Julie

Can I ask what op you had?

I am 8 days post op for enterocele repair (small bowel prolapsed into the top of the vagina). I suffer from an overactive bladder also and I am leaking a bit more than usual. The Consultant said it would calm down.

    Best wishes

One week is so very early to assess anything really. There will be swelling, stitches and a huge amount of healing going in internally. Hopefully at your six week check, if you have one, you’ll have a better idea of how well you’re doing.

Hi , I’m 9 days post op anterior and posterior repair. I have some slight bleeding still and seem to be going to the toilet more but I am drinking more ( with all the visitors !)

I’m starting to feel like there is something scratchy down there if that makes sense?

Feel so worried about doing anything and with having an 18 month old it’s so hard.

I hope yours settles down, they just seem to bundle you out the hospital without really going through anything that might occur after the operation ! I’ve been relying on these forums for people’s experiences to try and gauge what recovery would be like !

Hope you feel better soon x

      Hi Vicky

I am 8 days postop, I saw the Consultant on Tuesday who said the scratching I am feeling are the stitches as they start to dissolve. I was surprised they dissolved so soon but I have every confidence in my Consultant.

It must be very difficult for you having a toddler.

I was told I could potter around the house & go for a daily walk. No heavy lifting!

      Take care

I was told I could use Sudocrem on the outer stitches (around the labia). Don't know if you have any.

Ahh ok that explains it then. So hard to not lift anything, feel mean keep saying no to her. Have hubby and other two older children to help for the next two weeks and my mum is about as well.

I am getting bored now though 🙇??? Can’t moan at 9 weeks off work but reading on her me I will need it  xx

I had the same as you, last May, plus a sacrospinous fixation. I didn’t see my consultant for three months, she said it would be too early to assess anything. 😳

You’ve had a big “package’ and frustrating as it is, patience is the only way. It’s a long healing process, sorry. ??

You definitely need to look after yourself, Julie! Take all the help on offer. My sister suggested writing a list of things that you would like doing as we women find it very difficult to ask!! Pin it up in the kitchen & tell everyone it's there!

    Haha!

    Good luck xx
