LDN

Hi

I've just started taking LDN at 0.5 dose for the past 6 days. I have cfs and I feel so much more tired than usual. Is this normal? Does it eventually subside in most people? How many weeks do people tend to feel worse before they feel better?

I'm desperate for this to work and is my last resort so would be interested to hear how other people got on with it. I heard good stories initially but now I'm starting to feel quite disheartened.

Thanks

hi there, ive been taking nortriptylline for about a year , i now take 50mgs at night . i thought it wasnt helping much but then i stopped taking for 3 months and i felt so much worse so i started taking again. i take it for the fibromyalgia and it does help a bit but for me the main benefit is i sleep really well , which i couldnt do before so i think i cope much better during the day . im not sure it helps much with the fatigue to be honest i still have my ups and downs with this. its definately worth persevering with for about 3 months i would say to see if it helps . i increased gradually on gp advice wnd have settled on this does with minimal side effects . i had a very dry mouth to start with this took several months to improve , but now i dont get it at all. all the best , i hope you find it improves things for you .

please dont think anything is a last resort. it can be so depressing dealing with this illness but we always should have hope and tying to find things to be thankful for brings me peace daily .

    Hi there,

This is something I have recently been doing lots of research on. I have joined a few on line groups & they have a wealth of information. (It may be worth an add?) It’s something I am seriously considering myself due to getting so much positive feed back about it. One lady said after 3 months of not being able to walk she learnt to walk again, walked her 1st mile & even went for a jog!!! Yes JOGGING!!! All I’m 3 months! & all Without any repercussions. I’m glad to hear you have started on the lowest dose - very wise! They say to stick with it until any side effects subside before increasing the dose. Quite a few have said they had an increase in symptoms initially & felt worse, apparently it kicks up your immune system so if there’s anything going on it reacts & fights it. Seems to makes sense to me. If it were me I would try & stick with it & give it some time. We are all different & react in different ways, just listen to your body & do what you feel is right for you. I have just ordered the LDN book on Amazon so will be reading up some more. Good luck & please keep us posted
