My husband is having his operation on march 10. What are the best clothes to wear when he leaves hospital that will not hurt his wound?

I am a woman so a bit different habha . I bought a few pairs of cheap joggers without elastic at bottom . So glad I did they are great . Still wearing them 4 weeks in . I can manage to throw them on floor holding onto the top and put bad leg in first . Good luck

    Hi

I came hope in a loose fitting track suit without any elasticated bottom, done the trick for me.

I also wore stretchy waist track suit bottoms without the elastic at the ankle and a jumper.  These worked fine for me as they are easy to get on and off.  I have two pairs, so wore these for 4 weeks and were very comfortable.

Consider buying larger than necessary as leg will be severely swollen. We bought loose fitting pyjama bottoms which were ideal. Remember he will have a large wound that has a strong dressing on. I found that wearing underpants caused them to rub against dressing more. Hope this helps.

I agree with everyone elses posts.  I purchased three pair of jogging pants without elastic at bottom.  very easy to put on and off.  make sure you don't buy really cheap ones because they tend to "pill" like a sweater and then they rub a bit.  Also, I have not wore undergarments yet as they are uncomfortable.

My mom brought a huge pair of thin cotton elastic pants... we rolled up the bottom ... worked great as they were easy to get on and off....  used those for about two weeks... after the bandages came off also still had these little strips to put on over the scar... once those off, I used my oversized sweat pants ....

Something loose. At my joint replacement class they suggested smooth silky fabrics, like basketball shorts, so that sliding in and out of bed will be easier.

Hope it goes well! We are here to support and cheer you and your husband on!
