Left shoulder blade pain

Hi there, I've been reading through the forums and found quite a few that mention pain that started in the left shoulder and then progressed to other areas. I have been experiencing this for two years now. Drs don't know why so are calling it fibromyalgia. I just wanted to know if anyone has found relief somehow
(I can't take pain killers they don't work anyway)? I have tried nearly all the natural therapies. I also get awful heavy headaches and depression when I have a particularly bad flare. I have seen all the specialists and been told my hormone levels are normal. My period is still regular (however extremely painful and heavy), but I have ALL the other symptoms of perimenopause, and just know that it's hormones.

I don't know how old you are but you might want a bone density test and an arthritis test. Menopause can set off all kinds of things. 4 years ago my bone density was good like a 30 year old now I have osteopenia. I started to get aches and pains which is rare before one gets osteoporosis. I am 57 and they don't even recommend bone density test until 65. Had I waited until then I would have been a mess. It sounds like you having severe menopausal symptoms. You might try going to a good endocrinologist. When I was going through menopause I also had a bad gall bladder so I don't which thing was worse at that time.

Hi there, I am 46. I have seen an endo, tests showed nothing (not sure if she was a good one or what tests she actually did), can'tafford to see another one. I also had an arthritic test that came back negative. I am booked in to see a rheumatologist at the end of the month. All of my symptoms started about two years ago but I still get a period every month.. I don't know what is going on.

Have you heard about frozen shoulder?
Seems you might have this, I have it and it is painful, I finally found help from my naturopath, if the pain is in your left shoulder you need to massage your ankle bone just under the bone in the soft tissue area, I also learned to do this on the opposite side of the right arm is hurting you massage the left ankle.
I had acupuncture done and it helped me so,much that I finally had a good night sleep this weekend. Hope this helps

That is so interesting I will give it a go thank you! I'm not sure if it's frozen as it comes and go's and migrates around. But mainly left shoulder blade, right shoulder, right side of my neck and in my jaw and front of neck. I also get a couple of knots in the front of my ribs. I have had scans and MRI and tests... nothing. I also get headaches from my neck up the back of my head that feel really heavy.
I have tried acupuncture but unfortunately it brings on those awful headaches I just described and then they hand around for a couple of days. Thank you so much for replying, can't tell you how much I appreciate it! I feel so desperate with all these awful symptoms but the pain and the moods are definitely the worst for me.

Any history of heart disease in your family? When I went to the endo he tested my pituitary gland and it was under functioning. The pituitary gland works in unison with the ovaries. I don't know but after reading so many different stories about menopause and all the different and unique symptoms you'd think that there would be enough doctors who would get it. Women are more verbal and descriptive about what they are going through vs men who go through hormone changes but I doubt they use so many words. Plus they don't have the same reproductive systems and so many things working together. For them I would think sexual drive, weight and fatigue would be the main symptoms. I wonder if they hurt as much as we do. They do get more heart attacks, diabetes, etc. as their hormones go down. Why is menopause still such a mystery that one is just suppose to get through and magically at the end of the tunnel everything is suppose to be roses(which for a lot of it is not). And I am actually sick of the online jokes on different sites about how women are sexless human beings that older men just have to put up with. But that is another rant.
