Left Shoulder Blade Pain

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been have some really bad left shoulder blade pain for around 2 weeks, there seems to be no cause and no other symptoms just a nagging pain in the left shoulder blade that extends into the left shoulder and neck and is sometimes sharp. The pain is at its worst in the morning and does hurt more with movement so it sounds like a muscle or nerve but the pain is really really bad, can this really be from muscle?

the pain in the last week has got worse not better so what ever it is it doesn't seem to be healing, any advice is welcomed.

Muscle, ligament, tendon, and joint pain can be some of the worlds worst. I've had low back pain so bad that I couldn't move an inch without writhing in agony. 10/10 pain, and that lasted a few days. Ended up being nothing serious. It's just very difficult to find the root cause. I had neck pain once that radiated down through my shoulder blade, and for months I could not figure out the cause. X-ray, PT - they could find nothing and nothing worked. What I finally discovered is that I had 3 monitors at work, and I would face the left monitor, and crank my head to the right to look at the rightmost monitor. Months of twisting my head caused an incredible amount of inflammation and pain. I got rid of that 3rd monitor and it finally healed. I've never had a problem since.

Think hard on everything you do in a day, from sitting to standing to sleeping, and everything in between. Chances are it's something that you don't even realize.

    Good luck!!

Great! The other trick I found after working at a desk programming for 15 years is that putting a pillow behind my low back prevents me from slouching in my chair. It is not very comfortable to begin with, because it forces you to sit up straight, but eventually your body will adapt because you have nothing to lean back on (i.e. - the back of the chair). Keep your monitors a tick low so that you can see them perfectly with your chin down, etc., and there's a good chance neck pain will go away, especially those neck pains right below the back of the skull. I fought those those pains years and years. Plus, doing this will prevent you from developing kyphosis (hunchback)

      Good luck!

    Jameses,

Did you have an accident that may have tightened your body on one side? I am not a physician and cannot diagnose but, have suffered the same symptoms after a car accident that tightened left side. Pain all the way up to my head for years.

I found this place in San Diego called RejuVitize. The practitioner uses these smooth, metal tools to release the tension on the muscles and it lasts a long time. Actually, it fixed my neck. If you live in the area, this may be your best bet. I think there is a website under the same name where you can read about it. Hope you feel better soon.
