Left side abdo pain. At my witts end :-(

hi all, i have Left side pain underneath rib cage where my stomach is, i also get heartburn and diarrhoea (yellow tmi) normal endoscopy so no gastritis (although it feels the same as a bout i had years ago) im in so much pain feel sick dizzy breathless and tired but the drs cant seem to find an explanation, i now dont know if its al in my head, is that even possible? for your mind to create physical symptoms? any ideas appreciated. Liz x

Hi, I have exactly the same. Left side pain, also goes to my back sometimes. Diarrhoea (sometimes very pale). Dizzy all the time, tired, breathless, we sound identical!
I've been waiting to see a specialist and have an endoscopy for about 4 months but still no appointment.
I've had blood tests which have all cone back ok.
The Doctors suspect Gastritis but aren't 100% sure so I'm just taking Omeprazole until I get an appointment through.
Its really getting to me now and making me feel so down.
Some days I have no appetite.
Do you suffer with bloating? I have extreme bloating most days, even when I've not eaten. I just want to know whats going on and how to make it better.
I hope you find some answers and relief soon x

i dont know but i'm watching this post closely because i have many of the same symptoms. sometime the pain on left side under ribs is so painful! Doctors dont really have an answer except trapped gas in large intestine.

same symptoms had a colonoscooy all ok doc thought ibs but not sure. what meds do u take i have omniprozal and i take peppermint oil capsules

hi liz, it seems like you may well have ibs or gastritis. i wouldn't stand for your doctors explanation, you can't dismiss your symptoms! i would ask to see either your practice manager or another doctor. it took me 12 years to get a formal diagnosis of coeliac disease, i think doctors must think it's easier to do nothing. you fight to get what you need, good luck!

I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant and since September I've had pain in the same area. I havent been able to see a doctor face to face, so spoke to two over the phone and both diagnosed gastritis. I've been put on omeprazole, which I've been on since early October (no improvement with the first lot of pills). I'm in two minds whether it is gastritis. I don't get acid, although I do burp alot but always have. I don't get sickness and the pain goes when I lay down. It's like a burning/nipping pain where my stomach is. It can radiate to my left side into my back. I seem to get stabbing after I've eaten. I also get what I can only describe as a tingling/vibration under my skin where my stomach is. This can come on after I've eaten, if I'm walking around or if I'm sat in certain positions. I've altered my diet and cut out fatty foods and sugar. I've suffered ibs for years but this is different to that. My dad has gastritis and he gets alot of acid reflux. I'm worried it's not gastritis and I'm taking PPI's when I don't need to. I can have further tests till after she is born in January. I also have costochondritis so I am used to sore ribs and back. The area where my stomach is located is sensitive to touch and feels numb but isn't actually numb. To me this is nerve pain... But I don't know what to believe.
