Left Side Chest and Arm Pain

I'm 48 and have been in perimenopause for over 6 years now. I have had every single awful symptom and it is compounded as I also have Hashimoto's and POTS. Along with the anxiety, one of my worst symptoms is left side chest and arm pain that gets particularly bad around my period and about a week after. My heart checked out clear with a cardiologist and I had a bunch of tests like an Echo and CAT scan. The cardiologists look at me like I am crazy when I mention the correlation to my cycle. I even tried going to a female cardiologist and she also dismissed me (she was young and couldn't possibly understand this perimenopause hell). Does this happen to anybody else? If so, have you been given an explanation? They say to take chest pain seriously, but I would be in the Emergency every day!

    Hi Shan ,

I have left side chest pain and some times it radiate to the right side . I also have palpitations . I did see cardiologist and had Eco , Stress test heart monitor and CT scan which came out normal . I thought women cardiologist might have better understanding so went to different practice and did all the tests allover . No answer she gave me prononol for the palp i took once and felt dizzy so stop taking it . Last night i woke up with my heart racing and some kind of pain , im tired of going to ER seeing them doing same tests and refer me to cardiologist so i pray hoping and wishing it will go away Good luck to us!

sounds like you have been through a similar experience as I have. I also went to the ER many times. Finally I stopped and just hoped it wasn't anything serious. The doctors do the tests and then chalk everything up to anxiety (which I never had in my entire life until perimenopause). I can't believe how dehabilitating and disturbing all these symptoms are. I was so not prepared for this as mom sailed through it with just some hot flashes! Here's hoping things get better for all of us!

I'm 47 and have similar issues. My period is early this month and I got a new sharp pain in my chest yesterday. i always have left shoulder pain. I've been having weird sharp pains all over, (feet, stomach, legs) and noticed that I now have chills instead of night sweats. My blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels are all normal. I almost went to the er but after seeing I'm not alone I decided to just keep an eye on things. My night sweats have definitely declined but the chills are now more common. I have palpitations usually around pms and during menstruation. They tend to disappear shortly after my cycle ends.

my mom is in postmenopausal period... we used to visit emergency after a each month we face these symptoms.

in mumma's case this usually starts with feeling cold thn we nausea before leaving home with these symptoms each tym we do bp monitoring. everytime we find that bp shooks up gently to levels like 170/90 from 100/60 .

then we need to visit hospital in emergency...

but fortunately all heart test angiography echo are normal. even angio of kidneys are also normal.

but still each month we face such horrible symptons.

now a days along with these chest pain with left arm numbness are added too.

i m too upset nd worried about my mumma if somehow these symptoms get settled down kindly mention your fruitful suggestions regarding the same.

    thanks
