Left side head pressure, tender spot, neck issues

Hello, I am new here but I am a little concerned. I am a healthy 35yr old male however I have been dealing with left side head pressure for the last 5 weeks. I don't get a real bad headache but its mostly just pressure and its pretty much with me 24/7. I have noticed when I lay down or go to the gym with my headphones on it is not as bad but always there, I seem to feel it more when standing but again its always there even when sitting at my desk at work. I will list a few of my symptoms below in a moment but I did want to mention the last 2 years have been rough after going through a tough separation with my fiancée and only seeing my son a couple days a week instead of daily so my stress and anxiety was really bad for a while however I am dealing with that better now so I have a hard time believing this is stress related. I am a very anxious person and do not do well at the doctors, my blood pressure and heart rate go through the roof even just at a check up.
The last few months I have not felt like myself, I have had a bad stomach my whole life but it got worse around November 2015 and I was having chest pains and tightness, long story short I saw my doctor multiple times and was diagnosed with GERD and I also had an EKG and Stress Test Echo on my heart which all came out fine thank god. Now a couple months later I was finally feeling a little better, chest issues and stomach still kind of there but no where near as bad and then randomly get hit with this head pressure one Sunday night after just laying on my couch. I went to the doctor after 2 weeks of the head pressure and he tried 2 weeks of muscle relaxers thinking it was my neck, my neck is super tight especially left side where the head pressure is and he told me to stop going to the chiropractor. I was going to the chiropractor for just a couple months before all this happened because my neck and left shoulder always hurt (I work out in the gym and think part of it is from that, I used to lift very heavy but I don't as much anymore). The funny thing is a week before this head pressure started my chiropractor did his usual neck crack on both sides and I remember it almost hurting, feeling different then normal and sent pain through my head. I honestly wonder if he did something to me and if this is from my neck however almost 6 weeks and still feel the same? Advil doesn't do much, muscle relaxers didn't work. I am doing neck stretches and just bought a hand held massager this past week for my neck and head. My doctor did not think brain tumor at my visit based of my symptoms and said my reflexes were good. Sorry for the long post but hoping for some help, my doctor is now referring me to a neurologist but I am trying to hard to push it off a little more hoping it gets better, I have enough medical bills and I am trying to tell myself this has to be from my neck or something that will heal eventually. I know brain tumors are pretty rare but of course I am having anxiety over that.
Symptoms:
-left side head pressure 24/7.
-some pressure in left eye and ear but not terrible.
-neck issues, especially left side, recently got a massage and the massage therapist said my upper back and neck were extremely tight. Chiropractor although I haven't been in a few weeks doctors orders said my C-1 or 2 joint cant remember which one was out of place. I have been doing neck stretches and using a tennis ball.
-some lightheadedness and fatigue, nothing crazy and could be stress since I think about this and worry all day.
-just noticed this week I have a tender spot on the bone top left back side of head.
-no weight loss, no fever, appetite ok for the most part, stomach ache some days but no vomiting.
I do get a little bit of facial tingles in the left side of my cheek and especially my chin, it is not constant and comes and goes. This did start a couple months before this and I went to the dentist because I still have 3 of my wisdom teeth. He did say they could come out and my bottom right one was coming in a little crooked and could be causing some pressure. He did I could hold off for a bit and it wasnt an emergency and that could be causing some of my chin numbness and tingles. Also I am constantly popping my ears because they feel a little blocked and my nose feels a little congested but this has been going on for a while and is not something new, maybe allergies
Hopefully some suggestions and feedback will help, I will see neurologist if this doesn't improve but again I am trying to wait just a little longer on that.

I'm blown away by how many people have the exact (more or less) symptoms I'm having... and I'm also reassured. It's nice to know I'm not crazy. Haha.
All my issues started with a normal migraine on a sunday, (I too take Rizatriptan for my migraines, and I too am allergic to Gabapentin - which sucks, cause I liked it). My migraine went away, but I was left with a severe pain in my left temple. The pain continued and I asked my sister about it (my go to person for medical things as she's been a medical transcriptionist for over 30 yrs). She said it sounded like Temporal Arthritis. Dr seen, blood work/steroid shot no change. Then he asked what Brain Cancer my gma died from. (Blastoglioma - the really bad one) That, most unfortunately, sent me spiraling downhill to the Valley of All Panic. It's been horrible.
The pain isn't really a "pain" all the time... most of the time it's a pressure, annoyance, with moments of discomfort and at times an actual pain. It affects my eye, and my vision. I can also feel it in my jaw at times. I have had face numbing and tingling on the left side only, as well as discomfort going down the left side of my neck. I have had severe chest pain, specifically on the left side of my heart and that ran down towards my left arm. Tingling and numbness in my left thumb as well. On occasion the right and front side of my head is affected with a headache. The front part I know is a normal tension headache. Not sure what I'm feeling on the right. TIGHT muscles does NOT adequately describe my shoulders. That is putting it mildly. I have had tight, rock hard shoulder muscles for many years. To the point I'm pretty certain that is their "norm" now. I have done research and know that one massage once a week won't fix that... because that's the norm, they will just instantly go back to being tight. I have read a post from a man who had the same issues with his shoulder/upper back muscles, who used a tennis ball against a wall to knead and massage his muscles every day for a month, and finally got them how they should be. (little info to keep in mind)
I have disc degeneration in my neck, scoliosis further down between my shoulder blades, and a tilted and twisted pelvis. So I KNOW my bones aren't what they should be.
I had a CT done, without contrast as I'm allergic to CT Constrast with no findings. And yesterday I had an MRI with/without contrast done yesterday. I have noticed with my untrained extremely nervous eyes some odd findings. Typically there is some Symmetry and I have found some rather noticeable asymmetry around my sinuses.
Which brings up another symptom I didn't mention... my sinuses do feel full, left side only. My nose doesn't run, and I can breathe using my left side, but it's at a way lower level than the right. Also, I have noted when having a migraine/head pain, my left side sinuses always feel clogged and pressured. I too (as I read in previous posts) have taken a sinus med/nasal decongestant and found relief of the head pain that I felt in the past.
I recall early on having temple pain before, and nothing would alleviate the pain, then I randomly took an nasal decongestant cause my nose felt stuffy, and the pain stopped. (Another thing to try for some of you).
I am very much a mess. Due to all this unexplained discomfort that hasn't eased up in 3 weeks now (I can't imagine how some of you have made it so long with these issues) I'm now on a happy pill. Carbamapezine. I think it's for seizures and the lady at the pharmacy called it a "mood stabilizer". The Dr prescribed me Ativan, but I couldn't handle how it made me feel foggy and lethargic. I'm a single mother of two littles... I can't function like that... and that is also where most my anxiety/fear comes from. I cannot leave them to their fathers... haha. They NEED me. And I feel a lot of responsibility and pressure because of that.
I don't remember when the last post was made, hopefully some of you are still reading and updating. I will update when I learn more.
I push things with the medical field. I don't have the ability to sit by and wait for them to figure it out. I go through my scans/blood work (which btw, I had a CBC done and it was all normal), and do a lot of research. For example... I had multiple miscarriages and my drs were content to just have me keep trying till I eventually had a baby. > I researched my labs, decided based off those labs that I needed Lovenox, got pregnant again and my OBGYN said no, so I bypassed him went to a specialist who gave it to me, and carried my son to term.
You are your best advocate. You know how you feel, and if it's not right, it's not right. I am so thankful for the medical field and the advances they have made... but sometimes we're just another patient.
Good luck to everyone.

Hi , so sorry to know that you are suffering in the same way I did.
I had and have just about everything you have. I have had quite a stressful life and have had that for the last 18 years. My anxiety grew worse as the headaches didn't go away and numerous tests etc. I can function now and I'm back to work part time. My problem did stem from years of constant stress as a carer , work responsibilities and with poor posture while using the computer too much with my head forward. My neck muscles couldn't hold my head and my shoulder muscles were tired from years of stress. I went to physiotherapists and did yoga, . This helped somewhat but I needed to control my anxiety as it tightened my muscles , with head pain and left side tingling and tightness. I'm on Endep for the anxiety , it too made me feel so dopey I stopped. But I got so desperate I went back on it taking low dose until I got used to it after about 2 weeks. My anxiety had lessenned but I still had head headaches and tingling, tightness down the left side and dizzy. I was Then diagnosed with TMJ , teeth grinding, and had a special mouthguard made from the dentist. It worked magically for the headaches. It took them away. And when I thought about it, it makes sense I would feel tightness ,after lots of stress, in the bone on either side of my mouth where it joins. Too much smiling as well, as a teacher had made me dizzy in class and with all my stress had given me headaches then anxious numb tingling tight and unable to do things at all. A psychologist had told me to push myself don't sit outside meditating all day sit inside with your family, try to go out , try to do a little more cooking each day, the worst thing is to avoid things. This advice along with the mouthguard and the Endep and taking things a bit easier now have given me back my life. I hope this helps you in some way.

Thank you for your response. It all makes sense. My MRI came back clean... I kind of knew it would, just by what I read on these forums... I still had major anxiety about it though. I kept going from "I'm feeling great, it has to be tension, musculoskeletal and nerve pain because of that." to "Omgoodness... I have MS... that's what it is... I see a tumor! That's what it is." I'm talking back and forth between the no concern and the worst concern multiple times within a day. Even when I Logically knew I was over-reacting I couldn't stop myself.
My Dr insists I have a cluster headache. Everything I have read (and experienced) about/from cluster headaches... this is not a cluster headache. I discussed my thoughts of it being something that might require a trip to the Orthopedic, he responded with "most people who require that kind of care come in with specific pain and can pinpoint it in their neck/back of head, and are constantly rubbing their necks." etc. I just looked at him, because that is me constantly throughout the day. Haha.
I understand some people just have pain, with no reason for it. That's a hard pill for me to swallow (I hate taking medications) because to me, there's always an underlying cause for everything. I refuse to just chalk it up to "oh... you just have pain, here's a pain med/shot".
I feel so much better mentally, now that the MRI has come back clean. I still have discomfort in my head, but I'm confident I will get to the bottom of it.
I will seek advice from my dentist. I used to be a dental assistant, we made lots of mouth guards for people who greatly benefited from them.
I'm glad you're doing better...

Hi,
It can be stressful and expensive to find out what's causing chronic pains so I promised myself I'd let you guys know if I found anything out about it... my symptoms are head pressure neck pain right side sometimes I feel cloudy' and constant shoulder pain headaches ranging from ice pick to bruise like feelings right side for two years. I compiled this info and went to the dr he said it is most likely radiculopathy aka pinched nerve in neck which sends signals that tense muscles and causes headaches he recommended heat and stretching. I asked for MRI to be sure so i may be doing that as well but he said it's likely it will show nothing at all. Anyway that's my contribution good luck you guys! See your doctor if you're in pain.
