Left side of body feels weird?

So I started having panic attacks and severe anxiety about 3 months ago. After I started having my panic attacks I noticed a weird sensation on the left side of my body. My elbow constantly feels like it was bumped against something and my lower leg muscles and lower arm muscles always feel sore/tired. I also sometimes get slight tingles on the left side of my body. They do not effect my head. My chiropractor says it is muscle tension so I keep going in for adjustments. I have been checked for autoimmune diseases and everything is clear. I was scared to death that it may be MS but MS don't present themselves in such a way. I've gotten into the habit of going to the gym and working it out but it just bothers me. Everyone says it is anxiety as I have been suffering from severely. It's hard to over come the anxiety when your body doesn't feel right. My therapist doesn't think going in for more tests is a good idea as going to the docs has become an addiction of some sort (reassurance) I have had two ekgs and a cat scan of my head. All fine. Does anyone else experience one sided body sensations in the muscle and joints?

    Hi guys

of course get checked by your doctor as it’s the sensible thing to do but also be aware that these symptoms when accompanied by anxiety can often be hyperventilation

I recently experienced this myself and went through the natural panic of oh my god is it this or that thing that will kill me but breathing was the key to solving these physical symptoms for me.

Breathing exercises didnt help help because they are a way to get more oxygen into your body and if your hyperventilating that’s not what you need you need co2 so grab yourself a paper bag and breathe into it

Yes I do it affects my whole body my anxiety has been severe for a very long time creates muscle weakness muscle pain muscle spasms. When your muscles are tight they are harder to exercise then they cause paint or even just walking and cause pain. first place most people get it is in the neck shoulders human jaw. When bad enough it can progress to the entire body. I had it so bad several years ago I thought I was having seizures as the whole left side of my body would be almost paralyzed. I was having anxiety so bad in my sleep when I was withdrawing from benzodiazepines that my right arm would go totally paralyzed while I was getting what little sleep I would get. Check your breathing when you have anxiety if you are short breathing not getting proper CO2 oxygen and carbon dioxide mixture to your muscles. And nerves. Improper valence of oxygen in the body can have host of effects on your nervous system and your muscles.

There are other regulated breathing techniques to that can also help.

I'm so glad I found this thread, now I don't feel so alone. I have all the symtoms you have described and its a horrible feeling. I've been told all of my test are normal. So now my doctor is thinking its anxiety, I didn't believe it, but after reading all the comments here , I'm now convinced, that it's anxiety, Wow! What a ugly monster it is.

First of all, this thread is amazing and I'm thankful to know other people are experiencing the same thing!

my problems started about a year ago when i was on a very stressful business trip to China. i was sleeping maybe 3 hrs a night and drinking tons if coffee. i went from working out almost everyday taking pre-work out and protein all the time to dramatically not working out at all for 3 weeks. one day i woke up and my whole left side of my body felt a little numb. i tried to ignore it but then i got very dizzy with heart palpitations. i was sure i was having a heart attack. i rushed to the ER in china where they did an MRI, CT scan, EKG and blood tests. they said everything was normal. when i got back to the states i had 2 straight weeks of the same attacks. the doctors in my home town did every test they could think of and everything came back healthy as could be. They diagnosed me with anxiety and told me to lay off caffeine and cut back on stress. They also said i was having anxiety attacks(this was definitely the worst experience in my life).

it's been a year since then and i haven't had an anxiety attack but i do get the numbness and weakness in the left side of my body and foggy mind for a week at a time every 2 months on average.
