    Hello Tacoman,

Yes, there is all kinds of strange numbless and tingling in anxiety. Are you hyperventilating when you are feeling anxious?

Can you get out and walk? Can you stretch? How about a massage? Swimming might do you good.

But one thing you really need, is to sleep. It is the middle of the night in Britain (unlike in Canada right now) and you really need to go to bed as close to when the sun goes down as possible and get up with the sun. That is healthy. Light is healing and restorative...during the day. At night, you need to be in darkness so that your brain can produce melatonin in preparation for restorative sleep.

Eat well, drink water++ and take magnesium glycinate at bedtime for better sleep AND to help with anxiety and depression. Google  'scholarly paper magnesium' for surprising information on the effects of magnesium on mental health.

    Good night, Tacoman!

    Robin

Anxiety yes can cause numbness. If you aren't already then all anxiety should be treated. Self treatment isn't wise. Your gp may give medication or suggest therapy, it'll be your choice which you take, but I would suggest not leaving it untreated.  Be cautious of using Google to look up problems , we all do it but it's never a good idea

Please see your doctor to rule out any physical illness.

Knowledge is power. It is so important to learn about any condition you may have and how your own body functions as a reaction to it. Also you want to look up any and all side effects of medication that is proposed or that you take. These you can find on credible sites such as the drug company's own site. Your pharmacist is also a great resource in this regard. Personally, I like the Mayo Clinic site and Dr Weil or the site of well established medical institutes.  On this site also, medical information is provided. Gone are the days when we put our health and welfare completely in the hands of 'God, the doctor' and did just as he said without question. We all need to take responsibility for our own health.
