Hi All.

I am very pleased to have found this site to see other people are having simular symptoms as myself. Also I will add that whilst I fell very down its very clear that there are many on here that are in a worse place than myself.

Doctor gave me cipro thinking Prostatis. it did not work.Uroligist gave me cipro and Doxicycline with Naproxen. they have not worked. back to the Doctor and he has given me a course of doxicycline for another 2 weeks. they are not working. had an Ultrasound and all clear. Had blood tests and urine tests and they are all clear. in now experiancing pains in my stomach and my side. feels like a stich sometimes in the side. this can also spread to the kidney area to. i am taking Gabapentin to. just wondering if anyone has had simular and found a cure. is it an infection? is it a damaged nerve? kind thanks.

I'm going to see a urologist tomorrow for the same things. My primary doctor ordered an MRI. If I get any news, I will pass it along.

Sorry to hear of your problems, not getting answers can become a heavy load to carry. I get lain in lower left quadrant of stomach and haven't found the answer to the problem. I am on about 24 medications a day so I am going through each one to see if any could be the culprit. I do drink 1 shot of natural apple cider vinegar with 1 shot of water mixed every day and that helps. Do you drink enough water and are your bowel movements regular? As for the pain in the testicles I would nagging the Urologist.

    Wish you well, Ken

    Hi everyone,

?I stumbled across this forum looking for answers on my husband's testicular pain. Like most of you, he suffers from left testicular pain. His pain is described as dull, aggravated with movement, sharp occassionally and just down right annoying. When he first noticed the pain approximately 1 1/2 years ago we thought he pulled his groin area due to working out. He visited a urologist and was given  anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen 800mg , naproxen, Gabapentin, and antibiotics. He took this for about 2 months but pain just persisted.  Nothing helped until he received a nerve block administered by his Urologist (after his ultrasound was normal. )The nerve block lasted about 1.5 year.

?Today we visited the urologist again for another block due to pain returning. When he had his first block his urologist said that more than likely he would be back in a few months for another block. It lasted about a year but he would have occasional pain sometimes but nothing warranting a visit to urologist up until now. I would recommend that if you are currently seeing a Urologist to ask about this procedure. I would also suggest to go have a physical and have prostate checked. Today his urologist did state that testicular pain can be idiopathic pain which means that occasionally they don't know what causes this pain. Also, I would like to mention that my husband did use ice packs with elevation of his testicles which help alleviate  his pain. I hope this helps someone. God Bless.

If anyone is like me then they keep their cell phone in their left pocket.  Cellphones emit radiation. California now recommends we sleep 4 feet away from them, and recommends we don’t keep them directly on our body.  I have heard rumors that testicular cancer can occur due to the proximity of where our phone is in our pocket.

I have noticed that when I do put wallet in back left pocket the pain worsens.

Does anyone have disc slippage with these symptoms? I was rear ended bad enough to need an MRI and have my spinal cord pinched on my left side. So alot of my left side hurts, but especially my left neck, shoulder, left testicle and now my left lower abdomen. Please think about if you had a spine Injury somehow and if you have matching symptoms. And apparently the nerve area I hurt c4 thru c6 radiates to left testicle, left hip area, left neck and shoulder.

Interesting! I get left testicle pain and I have a problem with my sacroiliac joint and also pain in my left hip! I blamed prostatitis but I have been wondering if it might be something to do with my back. Thanks for your post.

    Hi All,

39 M here, pretty crazy discussion going on here because I totally relate.  I have had these same symptoms since I got a vasectomy 6 weeks ago.  Thanks to this forum, I have learned that the vasectomy maybe triggered something that can just happen for no reason, or by other causes (e.g. dog stepping on your crotch @brad07962).  Hear me out, and I think I might(?) have some other possible causes to look  at/think about and I  have definitely found a couple things (below) that have reduced my pain.

First the symptoms - left testicle generally has a constant burning pain that grows and gets worse throughout the day.  I tell my wife it feels like a hot poker is stuck in my left testicle, as the day goes on, that burning will radiate to my entire groin area.  Second is the lightning-bolt pain in ol' lefty, similar to getting kicked there.  That usually happens with light exertion like going up steps or looking over my shoulder.

Next is the abdominal pain.  It's just really uncomfortable.  It's like a deep dull ache, sometimes burning, sometimes deep cramping.  It feels like over-tight hot ropes or cords from my groin up through my abdomen to just under my ribs.  The past couple of days that same type of abdominal pain has been present in my upper-left inner-thigh which strengthens by hypothesis of the possible cause explained below.

Recovery for a vasectomy is supposed to be a few days to a couple weeks.  At 3 weeks I was in big-time pain still.  Went to the urologist, they (first the PA, then the doc) pushed around, said everything seemed fine, and I should call in a week if I still hurt.  Week 4, like everyone else here,  they put me on Cipro; even through I didn't have any other symptoms, they said maybe it was a light infection or epididymitis.  Completed that with zero change in symptoms.  Week 5, called back, I got an ultrasound of my scrotum and lower abdomen and urologist felt around again, said everything seemed 100% and perhaps a nerve got damaged during the procedure, "after all there's a lot of stuff the spermatic cord with the vas".  Next step is (like everyone else) 500mg of naproxen (aka Aleve anti-inflammatory) 2x per day.  If that doesn't work then he said we'll try nerve drugs (like others here) and if it's still bad in 6 months, we can try a nerve block (also mentioned in this forum).  I'm 1 week into naproxen (6 weeks since pain started) and it's really neither here nor there, of course I feel better when I'm hopped up on a double dose of pain killers, but each morning and evening when I'm reaching the 12 hour mark, I can tell it's wearing off.

Two things so far have made a noticeable, positive reduction in pain for me:

#1, UFM underwear, just google it.  I was wearing tight, supportive underwear with tons of pain.  UFM has a drawstring pouch or pocket that lifts and supports your scrotum.  I'm three days in wearing them, and it has virtually eliminated my testicle pain.  After 6 weeks of pain, I feel like there's a chance to heal.  I don't know anyone at UFM and am definitely not being compensated in any way,  I just found them, and am thankful they exist.

#2, Zyrtec (or benadryl).  In all these weeks of pain, there were a couple odd-ball better days, and I did later figure out I took Zyrtec on those days for seasonal allergies.  As far as why allergy medicine might help - In the context of a vasectomy, you can get sperm leaking into your blood stream that get attacked by your immune system.  A byproduct of that is histamine which some people can be intolerant to.  Also I read that benadryl is a dirty drug in that it fixes lots of stuff and there's little to no research as to why or how it fixes lots of stuff.  You might try an antihistamine in your troubleshooting.

Thanks for bearing with me through all this.  Last is my theory is what this could be: Genitofemoral Neuralgia:

"Genitofemoral neuralgia presents as paresthesias, burning pain, and occasionally numbness over the lower abdomen, which radiate into inner thigh in men and women and into the labia majora in women and the bottom of the scrotum and cremasteric muscles in men. "

"In men, the genital branch of the genitofemoral nerve passes with the spermatic cord to innervate the cremasteric muscles and provide sensory innervation to the bottom of the scrotum."

My theory is my genitofemoral nerve was damaged or upset in my spermatic cord during my vasectomy.  My urologist's response to this was "Yeah sure, that could be the cause.  Nerves are slow to heal so lets try every other option over the next 4-6 months before we get into nerve blocks (needle) or surgical remedies" which I totally agree with, but I plan on doing everything to try and get better as soon as possible.

I would love to hear what others think about my non-medical theory of Genitofemoral Neuralgia.  I would also recommend that when you're searching for info related to symptoms mentioned here, add the word vasectomy,  you will find tons of other resources, and I think they're still valid resources because I'm feeling more like a vasectomy can trigger something that's maybe present or possible in lots of other guys that haven't had the surgery.

    Good luck everyone!

Hello there, i have had a continuous mild pain in my left testicle about a 3/10 and sometimes also in my lower left side of my abdomen( pretty sure both are related somehow) for the last 7-9 days. Didnt take any medication whatsoever.

I am 19 btw. And the pain isnt always there. It happens when i walk or do smthing. Other than that if i just sit or lie down for a couple of minutes the pain dissappears .Its not swollen, and neither does my scrotum hurt . I haven't done any tests cause im scared (hopefully its not smthing serious) but can any you tell me what the problem or the solution to it can be since you had a somewhat same symptoms to mine. Much appreciated.

      Hello mate,

I had similar symptoms both in both (it varied) not painful just noticeable. Had both balls looked at 6 times by gps ultrasound and nothing abnormal showed up. I then got advised about physio...that was useless...so I went to a chiropractor. After 4th session it went away. Was a problem with my lower back. Comes back every now and again but mine got worse to the point it was daily. Chiropractor sorted it. Hope this helps.
