Left with holes in skin.

After having many many lumps and some have eventually gone down I am left with open holes in a number of places and my specialist has informed me there is nothing to be done about this. I also asked him if it would help to have saunas, he said no but I'm tempted because as he said \"people with my condition make him feel inadequate\" because even specialists dont know enough about our condition, so is there is anyone out there who can shed alittle light on this please Help.

    The holes are sinuses where the puss has drained but if they heal they are permanent.

    THEY CAN BE REMOVED - a plastic surgeon can removal these holes but what I will say is they can form again if the puss builds up and reates a new sinus.

    I had the op n conjustion with Laser hair removal and I have had 1 sinus is 9 months which is a practical miracle for me.

    The trouble is HS & PS (Pilidonal sinus) get confused and you can get PS from HS, the above is the treatment for the sympton but not the HS.

    Please can you tell me where this procedure is done because alot of places won't do it on broken skin which are my holes and I have alot. Thank you for your reply it has helped.

    I had several lumps which were removed and that never healed and because of this I has the sweat glands & hair follicles removed (which isn't a cure) from both armpits and a skin graft to cover by a plastic surgeon. I had this done at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital and they were fantastic. I still have small insignificant holes from where the graft has healed and the skin isn't as strong but by comparison to how it was I don't care much!! Things have definately improved.

    Hope this helps ... do find out about it, talk to your doctor about a 'radical exision of you axillas (armpits) and primary closure using skin flaps/grafting (think surgeons prefer grafts!!

    You generally have to be refered to a surgeon and if you have a number request for it to be a plastic surgeon. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK as it took me 6 years to learn this was open to me as Doctors dont know very much about these conditions

    i have had to have several operations for hs which is in my groin area and on my buttocks, i have just had my 5th op and have been told that in 4 weeks time i will be meeting with plastic surgeons to improve the appearance of said areas. the unfortunate thing with this condition is that it can leave you with excess skin where the infection has been and unsightly scarring. i will keep you posted on what happens next.
