Leg Pain

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone has any natural solution for easing pain in legs and arms. I am in a lot of pain at the moment but my legs feel so cold they feel like stone. The only medication I take is Amytriptlyn which helps me get some sleep but not much and paracetamol. I have chosen not to take other meds advised for Fibro. My room is warm and I have a blanket on my legs but that is not helping. Thanks for reading and crossing my fingers someone has some ideas.

I get very cold too if you can wear some thick socks that helps and have some warm drinks i also take a nice long soak in a bath with epsom salts and laveder in. At the moment though I'm suffering severe itching on my finger tips and I'm scratching so much that my skin is going hard i have no idea why that started 2 months ago seeing Dr next week. I'm on amitriptyline too but all that helps is to relax my muscles so I can get some sleep. I'm on meloxicam for my arthritis andihave a bad back so I can't move around too much so I find it hard to keep warm. Wish i had more ideas for you my heart goes out to you this is an awful invisible illness that really takes its toll on all of us on here good luck sue

There are supplements that help. I take hot detox baths 3 times a week. It's a mixture of baking soda and Epsom salt. Also I take 2 magnesium pills before bed. It has stopped the restless leg syndrome and I am able to sleep through the night.
You have to check your meds first to make sure that there isn't any interactions.
I also use salonpas pads on my back for pain. I put them on before bed. They heat up and help loses muscles so you aren't as stiff in the morning.
Compression socks and heating pads work well too.
Like Magpie said it could be circulation. You may benefit from accupuncture or physio. As for the ginger, I make a cup of hot green tea and put ginger and mint in. It will also help your digestive system.
Hope this helps.

I am suffering very similar symptoms though mainly in my left leg.
I am on high dosage of pre gabalin however pain levels vary throughout the day and evening.
The only thing I can advise is to use hot wheat bags on the worst areas but being careful not to scaled.
I also find hot rubs can comfort at least temporarily.
I have suffered this pain for over 5 years now but can just about manage.
I have still not been diagnosed as nobody wants to label it which makes it difficult in itself.
Hopefully someone will find a solution but until, they do try to remain positive.
Best of luck.

Hi Sue; yes I agree with others re use of Magnesium baths and increasing oral Magnesium. The other, and best, remedy that I have been using, however, is the wearing of TED / Tubigrip Stockings. These can be bought from Physios and Pharmacies. They are normally used for Inpatients in hospitals to prevent clotting and increase circulation. Although we Do Not actually have a problem with our Circulation, I have found that by wearing these on legs and arms etc, do relieve/ alleviate the Pain that we get in our extremities. I have been doing this for over 2 years now (Especially when lying down, for this is when my legs get Much Worse).
?Do buy some (or if you have the stockings that are given to passengers on Long Air Flights, these may also help)??. I feel that nothing is bettter than the TEDS, but if you cannot find these, then try some Tubi-grip which may come under another name overseas, but I always fiind this in chemists'/pharmacies (it is also used by medical professionals for under plasters on legs etc, for same reason ). Good luck. Bron

Ssi take mostly natural melds but am on Amitriptalyne too have done fir fir 30 years..I take double the daily dose of magnesium but recently I have been using what they call magnesium oil..it is sprayed on and rubbed in..it doesn't go through your organ system so it's very strong-very effective...one of its qualities..it works very quickly and most effective for pain and muscle spasms etc...it's not really an oil..it's just pure magnesium....I only wish I had known about it years ago...am thinking now that I might stop taking the magnesium tablets..if I could get in the bath I would have a magnesium bath everyday..it's only Epsom salts...be blessed sue...hope you find a way out of such pain soon..have a lovely day😘💐

Hi Christine I have just gone onto a Health Shop site who sells Magnesium Oil I will go and get some tomorrow. I have noticed they sell one for the nights that aids sleep have you tried this or will I just stick to the original oil. Really excited about this idea as the reviews are amazing and it seems to be well used by athletes with muscle pain in the calf. I am also waiting for a hospital appointment when I had my rhume appointment, who confirmed Fibro, one of the blood tests they requested shows high levels of calcium in my blood this apparently aggivates the pain. So I am hoping that that doesn't take to long to come through. Thank you for listening x
