Leg pain

I am 2.5 weeks post op myomectomy. Yesterday and the day before I went out and walked a lot after not walking since my surgery . Last night I had leg pain which started from my buttocks down to my calf. I took oxy just so I could sleep. However today the pain is still there. Anybody else have this experience? Is there anything I should do or should not? Should I try to walk a bit or elevate? Ughhhh. Please help

1: Have you got a disc problem in the lower sacral region?  Lumbar disc can cause sciatica, if twisted or compressed, you may have moved something in your back during the Myomectomy Operation.. Fibroid Backache is very similar to low back pain, also sacral pain in the S1 joint..

2: Check the back of your calf, if it's hard or painful around the back of calf, let the Doctor know immediately, could be Deep Vein Thrombosis. (DVT) which can

occur post Operatively. (Ice pack to Back of calf)

Muscle pain in the back, apply Hot bean bag, keep moving, if you can do some walking about try otherwise Lay flat for comfort.

I do not have any disc problem to my knowledge. I'm laying flat now , took an anti inflammatory and may take a short walk later. Seems like it may be my muscles. I may have outdone myself yesterday with all the walking I did. Thank you for the info

Hi! I went to my orthopedic doctor today and he gave me a referral for an MRI. Soon to find out if I have any herniated disk - update. I ordered several orthopedic pillows and used one for lumbar support but woke up w tailbone pain. Ughhhh I can't catch a break. 4 weeks post op and my myomectomy recovery is going well however now I have this back and leg issue. I can't lay on my back now because my tailbone hurts :-(

    Hiya,

Well I had really bad leg pain which started around the same time as you on one leg. Mind started in my right calf and then spread the whole leg right up to my butt. I went to the doctor to get it checked because of the risk of dvt but they weren't concerned as there wasn't any redness or swollen area on my calf.

It got so bad one night I rang 111 for medical advice at 2am but they weren't concerned either, particularly as it wasn't as painful when I was up walking around. The pain kicked in more when I was lying or sitting down.

I got so worried after a good week that I went back to the doctors and they sent me for an ultrasound for blood clots but it was all clear.

I'm now 5wks post op and I still get the odd aching in it but not constant.

Keep an eye on it and if it's gets really painful or there's any redness or swelling in your calf, make sure you seek medical advice, particularly if you get short of breath or have any pains in your chest, groin or lower back.

Hopefully it's just your muscles like I think mine was....

Thank you! I keep checking however, I do not see any redness and it's not hard. I took an anti inflammatory and laying flat now. I took a short walk earlier and may take another one later .

Hi how are you doing? Has the leg pain eased up? Hope so...

Hi, thanks for asking. The leg pain comes and goes and I recently purchased a pillow for lumber support and it ended up hurting my tailbone. If it's not one thing it's another. I have an appt with the orthopedic Doctor today as I believe the pain is originating from my neck/back area down my leg and hand at times. Tingling and numbness- it may have been aggregated from laying down so much. I am now able to lay in my sides with a leg support pillow but find that my hips hurt. Anyhow, for the past few weeks I've used a hand held massager heat and ice on my back which I believe helped with the pain. . Let's see what the doc says today.
