Leg Pain

Has anyone taken Gabapentin for Peroneal Nerve Palsy ? I have been suffering from this

for years in my left leg and nothing has helped my pain except this medication. I started

out 300 mg 3 x a day but the pain started back fast so of course the Dr told me to increase

med but I refuse to With the knowledge I read here knowing what will happen . I suffer daily

as pain pills are a joke these days with no relief at all . It’s a shame this medication can stop

my leg pain but also a shame that doesn’t last long and has to be increased quickly until

you get to the point of NO ReTURN and suffer to get off this medication. I don’t want to

go through such a withdrawal that people are having .now I wish I had never taken this drug !

Me too!  You couldn't pay me enough money to endure not only the withdrawals but the past 5 years of excruitiating increased pain and illnesses brought on by side effects!  Yep! A bit over 20 hospital stays at 80% being ICU is enough for Me! My Doctor plus many Specialist never once suggested a decrease of dosage. Nope! I only was increased up to 3600 mg per day! Off label for chronic pelvic and back pain. Well guess what was causing chronic pain to increase!  You got it!  It took me 5 years to figure it out! Told the standard it's a safe effective alternative to opiates by everybody! Finally I seized and a Neurologist asked if I was crazy taking that amount and adding oxicarbizapine 1000 mg a day. Nope!  I was in a brain fog and only took what I was handed! My Doctor was crazy!  Still getting infections!  Watch for those last one was bacterial not viral menegitis!  17 days in hospital. 12 on ventilator in. ICU sedated then a week in nursing home!  Just sharing and good choice not increasing but be careful withdrawaing even that low amount. Some will say your actually on a high dose!  The lower the dose the harder the withdrawal. That's what I'm experiencing and I'm tapering slow!

I was put on gabapentin I'm may if this year for severe back pain.i was on 2400mg a day,but the Dr wanted me to increase to3600mg and include liquid morphine.i got to the stage that I didn't know if I was coming or going.Having read such negative views of this drug,i have been reducing slowly one capsule at a time over a week or so at at a time, until I am now on about a third of a 300mg capsule to about 100mg twice A day.i intend this week to cut down the night one and see how I go for about a week, then I'll try ridding myself if that last tablet. To start with you might feel ask.if you're back to square one, like I did.i persevered to where I am now and feel better than I have for a while.

Gone is there severe depression, tingling in my arms fingers etc.ive also lost 90%of the weight i had put on whilst taking them.

I appreciate that my method may not work for you,but if you can manage without the increase of tablets don't start taking them.i didn't when told to increase mine.sometimes I thought my original pain was back, but I'm hindsight I feel it's the side effects of this horrible drug.Drs seem to push them out like smarties, but don't be interested in what they do to you.

Good luck.hopefully someone else will read your question and give you a better insight of how torrid yourself if them
